meaning of name?

What is the meaning of the name? In google translate, I get "the new trial," but presumably there is something more idiomatic. Does "trial" mean "experiment" here?--207.233.87.192 (talk) 23:36, 30 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"cimento" --> substantive from the verb "cimentare" / "cimentarsi" :
cimentare
1 vt (pazienza, persona) to try, to put to the test
2 cimentarsi vr
cimentarsi in qc to undertake (the challenge of) sth, (atleta, concorrente) to try one's hand at sth
cimentarsi con qn to compete with sb
ps
in Italian "cimento" has a "flavour" which is wide poetic--79.17.129.23 (talk) 02:54, 23 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
