Photos needed

Can someone from Chandigarh add photos of the Univ? I no longer live in Chandigarh so can't do it. Amit@Talk 14:49, 21 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WP:INDIA Banner/Chandigarh workgroup Addition

Note: {{WP India}} Project Banner with Chandigarh workgroup parameters was added to this article talk page because the article falls under Category:Chandigarh or its subcategories. Should you feel this addition is inappropriate , please undo my changes and update/remove the relavent categories to the article -- TinuCherian (Wanna Talk?) - 06:04, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

To many alumni

I removed the long list of movie stars and regional politians from the alumni list and kept only the most renowed ones. Feel free to edit if you disagree with my choices, but please keep in mind that while PU has many notable alumni, a very long list detracts from the really illustrious ones. just did that.. some of the fake names were there in the list gandalfthegrey 13:30, 16 August 2010 (UTC)

File:Uiet.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion

An image used in this article, File:Uiet.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?
Speedy deletions at commons tend to take longer than they do on Wikipedia, so there is no rush to respond. If you feel the deletion can be contested then please do so (commons:COM:SPEEDY has further information). Otherwise consider finding a replacement image before deletion occurs.

As per my knowledge, this is not an copyright image, it can be used freely.

About Advert/Non-free Tag

I want to state that Panjab University is a Indian Centrally-funded University and is a Government body, this article contains information for the general public, please remove ADVERT tag. --SARVPRIYE SONI, Student Of B.E CSE, Panjab University, Chandigarh 00:17, 25 June 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sarvpriye (talkcontribs)

I reviewed the article again, I guess now the advert tag is not apt for it. Please review and decide

Also I guess non-free tag should also be nominated to be removed, Lets discuss here for a day before there removal. --SARVPRIYE SONI(Wanna Talk?) 13:48, 26 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Advert tag: Here are just two random sentences:
  • "Almost 100% placement record and strong R & D has made the UIET's presence visible on the national map."
  • "UIET was set up with a vision to provide quality professional engineering education and research."
This is as blatant advertisement as it gets. In my opinion all such sentences should be combed out of the article before the advert tag can be removed.
non-free tag If you are saying you did a section by section search and they are all clean I don't mind if it is removed. --Muhandes (talk) 14:55, 26 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Removed the first line but I guess the following line is not an advertisement, It is the vision of its establishment:

MCA Admission Procedure in PANJAB UNIVERSITY

anyone please edit this section. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Umangck (talkcontribs) 06:56, 25 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free material

I had just a quick look at the article and the entire sections on hostels and on the history department were copy pasted from http://hostels.puchd.ac.in/ and http://history.puchd.ac.in/ respectively, in blatant violation of university copyright and without explicit permission. I have strong suspicion that much more of the article was thus created. If you know, or can recognize, such violations, please remove the material promptly. --Muhandes (talk) 18:23, 25 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
