Portable Firefox
The normal Firefox version can be also installed in a USB drive and run directly from it. To install it in your pen drive, first read the steps carefully before doing so.
- Download a version of the normal Firefox installer.
- Install it in a suitable location in your hard disk. For this, select a custom setup.
- Copy the folder in which Firefox files are installed and paste it in your USB drive.
- Remove the original copy from your hard disk by uninstalling it.
You will get a copy of portable Firefox. Click on the folder in which Firefox is installed and then click on the Firefox icon. In case of any error which totally prevents you from uninstalling Firefox, delete the original folder from your hard disk and then remove all traces of Firefox from the registry.
Software Deployment
The reason I think article is not specific and is too generic. The first time when I read the entry I came away with the impression that deployment was a simple task. Its not. Software deployment is driven by configuration management. It should start from here.
The article at the moment is too generic, too specific to pc's, doesn't take cognizance of larger multi million pound systems, where deployment is a stage in itsef (in the plan), and is often lengthy, time consuming and difficulty, stuff like model office, deployment before testing, then post deployment, change control is briefly mentioned in version control (Which should be linked to the appropriate article), no mention of real time deployment issues, web based deployment/xcopy deployment, frameworks are show in links, but not compared or contrasted. Real world examples are few and far between. We should see Microsoft .NET/IBM J2EE deployment models, which are different, Oracle software deployment model is different again. Large scale deployment, like rolling out 3000 pcs over a weekend, what is the model/process for that (Extremely difficult I can tell you). The link between testing, testing scenarios and deployment is not shown. What about post deployment strategies and models (links to other articles). There is also no mention of deployment servers like Microsoft Systems Management Server, and Operation Manager, IBM Tivoli, HP insight integration server. How do these deploy software? scope_creep 15:38, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
"Incredulously" (on your user page)
I don't mean to be one of "those people," but I'm about ninety percent sure that you want to use "incredibly" or "miraculously" (or some combination of the two). Sorry, I'm almost doing this more because I need to than because you might need it. ~Wikimancer X *\( ' ' ^) 05:06, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
Also, thanks for sharing the experience of an interesting life (to say the least) online here. ~Wikimancer X *\( ' ' ^) 05:10, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the "warm and fuzzy." It's initiation by fire. Now that I've started, maybe I'll hang around. I wish I understood precisely how you got onto me--just clicked on link posted by or in relation to WhatamIdoing that took you to WT:Med, where you noticed the external link discussion? (Sorry if I posted this message improperly. When I clicked on your "Talk to me" link on my talk page, it took me to another form like this that was going to create a new page, which I was reluctant to do.) WikiCup 2011 September newsletter
We are on this year's home straight, with less than a month to go until the winner of the 2011 WikiCup will be decided. The fight for first place is currently being contested by Miyagawa (submissions), Hurricanehink (submissions) and Sp33dyphil (submissions), all of whom have over 200 points. This round has already seen multiple featured articles (1991 Atlantic hurricane season from Hurricanehink and Northrop YF-23 from Sp33dyphil) and a double-scoring featured list (Miyagawa's 1948 Summer Olympics medal table). The scores will likely increase far further before the end of the round on October 31 as everyone ups their pace. There is not much more to say- thoughts about next year's competition are welcome on the WikiCup talk page or the scoring talk page, and signups will open once a few things have been sorted out.
If you are concerned that your nomination, be it at good article candidates, a featured process or anywhere else, will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAC, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which could otherwise be caused by the Cup. As ever, questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup and the judges are reachable on their talk pages, or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start receiving or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. J Milburn and The ed17 12:41, 1 October 2011 (UTC)
About your WP:MED EL question
Sorry for the long delay but I owe you an answer. You asked, if I understand correctly, why should we link to MedMerits, eMedicine...? What's the difference? What's the difference from WP or from each other? Why should we link to them at all or why should we link to one and not the other? MedMerits and eMedicine are encyclopedias of sorts. One could make a good case for not linking to other encyclopedias at all or for linking all relevant ones (there aren't more than handful). It's hard to make a good case though for linking to eMedicine but not MedMerits. I discussed the relevant issues here, which also links to the earlier discussion round, now archived. There was quite a bit of heat coming at me when you posted your question, but I kept my cool and thereby got my colleagues' goodwill. I lost the debate but we all gained respect for each other. Thanks for welcoming me. It helped me keep the peace. Presto54 (talk) 06:05, 13 October 2011 (UTC)
