2007 Iranian seizure of Royal Navy Personnel

The section about this at the bottom of the page has a link I put in that takes the user to the article covering it, it doesn't seem to work, can anyone help? Thanks.Bananaman1966 00:25, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Chronology

I am no expert on Iran-UK relations but how can Sir Anthony Eden be a significant Briton involved in Iranian politics during the monarchy of Fath Ali Shah, when he was born 60 or so years after the Shah died.

Possible move to Anglo-Iranian relations?

To be consistent with other articles, should this be renamed? See Anglo-Australian relations, Anglo-Chinese relations, Anglo-French relations, Anglo-German relations, Anglo-Irish relations, Anglo-Japanese relations, and Anglo-American relations. There are a few other examples to the contrary, however. Tim (Xevious) 12:50, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I totally agree with changing the name. I like to add that for consistency with other articles such as Anglo-Persian Oil Company, Anglo-Persian War, Anglo-Persian Agreement, and Anglo-Persian Treaty of 1801, this article is better to be renamed to Anglo-Persian relations. As you may notice, Anglo-Iranian Oil Company is already redirected to Anglo-Persian Oil Company. --FakhredinBlog (talk) 10:18, 18 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Quality

This is, as of April 13 07, an appallingly-written piece and full of non-sequiturs. It does not meet Wikipedia's quality standards, I feel.

Fair use rationale for Image:Aussie womens weekly shah.jpg

Image:Aussie womens weekly shah.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Amazing that a page on British and Iran relation make no mention of MI6 or SIS

Wow when you read this, it kinda makes you foget that the British controled the Iran goverment for decades and were in partnership with the US involving the Shaw of Iran. Jacob805 (talk) 11:27, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Labels backward.

The legend for the info box is wrong, the UK is the Green island group just off europe whilst the Orange nation in the middle is Iran. I can't work out how to alter it so I'll remove it. could some one who can fix it do so and put it back?(Morcus (talk) 13:29, 24 June 2009 (UTC))[reply]

I've made a new map (File:Iran-United Kingdom.svg) in which I've switched the colours around, so it should be okay now. Jolly Ω Janner 20:25, 24 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Underneath the map the color explaination for Iran is on the left while the one for the UK is on the right, should be reversed but I'm too drunk to figure it out to be honest. 24.47.2.89 (talk) 04:29, 25 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect information

In the introduction the article states that prior to 1935 Iran was known as India. This is incorrect as prior to that year Iran was actually known as Persia. The correct previous name for Iran is stated in the article for that country. I'm changing the article to correct this slight error.

Rushdie Fatwah

The fatwah was not a call for his death, but a declaration that to kill him would not be sinful in Islamic terms.
