Vandalism?
This page is being vandalized by 76.126.186.253 (talk · contribs) (Oct, 2010) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.126.182.213 (talk) 08:01, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
- I don't see these edits as vandalism. It would have been better if there had been some discussion on why the tags where added though. The references do need citation info, which could justify the wikify tag, though isn't there a more exact tag for such problems?
- The other problems are hard to assess with the references in their current, poor state.
- Overly-promotional, poorly sourced information is regularly added to the article, so the NPOV tag might be justified if someone would point out specific concerns with the current version. --Ronz (talk) 19:17, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
Cleanup
I took a closer look and restored the advert tag as well. It was removed with only minor changes to the article.
I think we have enough to show he's notable per WP:BIO. Full citation information will help immensely making this clear, and in getting this article cleaned up.
I don't find the notability very clear. Anyone want to summarize here to help the cleanup? --Ronz (talk) 19:52, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
- I have finished the clean-up and will watchlist the article. Any contentious unsourced or poorly sourced material will be removed as soon as possible. --Diannaa (Talk) 23:17, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for all the work.
- Looks like we have some sources that fail verification, as well as a dead link.
- Anyone disagree with the emphasis, especially related to notability? --Ronz (talk) 02:07, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
- As for the dead link, this seems close, but doesn't verify the info. I'm not finding "Bidclerk" at construction.com. --Ronz (talk) 02:16, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
- The guy seems notable; he has written a book and is an adjunct professor who is quoted in the Wall Street Journal. The first cite I tagged as failed verification confirms that AutoReach was bought out by AutoNation, but it does not mention Fisher and his relationship with the firm. Do you think the article needs any maintenance tags at this point? I would not mind seeing some sources to replace the ones that didn't pan out.
- As for the dead link, this seems close, but doesn't verify the info. I'm not finding "Bidclerk" at construction.com. --Ronz (talk) 02:16, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
- I am wondering whether or not the material in this cite http://www.marinij.com/business/ci_13016645 should somehow be incorporated? Partway down there is a fellow named Nickelsburg who disagrees with Fisher's analysis. It didn't seem necessary to leave it in as virtually every economic analyst will have some people who disagree with him. --Diannaa (Talk) 02:46, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
- I'm not questioning if he's notable, just hoping that others will think we have the notable aspects of his life presented properly.
- It can be problematic to be notable for forecasting: correct forecasting is highly newsworthy, incorrect forecasting tends to be ignored. If Nickelsburg turns out to be correct then we'll more likely be removing Fisher's forecasts and maybe writing an article on Nickelsburg. --Ronz (talk) 03:16, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
- I usually forecast the Yankees to save myself a lot of heartache. Oh well. --Diannaa (Talk) 03:58, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

re Ronz: "notable aspects of his life" -Fisher unemployment cycle forecast already complete (2008-2009 bottom, 2009-2010 top). Fisher book required reading for MBAs including Berkeley (New Venture Finance EWMBA 295T). —Preceding unsigned comment added by PredilCO (talk • contribs) 18:05, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
- Hi, PredilCO. This is exactly the sort of info that establishes notablity and would be worth including in the article. On a side note, could you please word your posts in plainer English so they are easier for me to understand? That would be super. Hope you like the improvements to the article. --Diannaa (Talk) 18:51, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
- PredilCO, do you have anything on the "Forty Under 40" award? The link that was in the article no longer has the content we are looking for. If you know where the info is online that would be great. Or if you have access to a paper copy of their magazine and you could provide the issue number, page number, and so on? Thanks --Diannaa (Talk) 19:06, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
Hi Diannaa. The introduction to the applicable 40 under 40 award is here http://www.bizjournals.com/sanjose/stories/2006/10/09/focus1.html (note the last portion of the URL is “focus1” and note “focus 2” through “focus41” describes the 40 award recipients including “focus 16” that is Fisher. I did not find a page listing all the recipients but this should be sufficient. Your edits to this page are thoughtful and comprehensive. —Preceding unsigned comment added by PredilCO (talk • contribs) 21:34, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
- Okay, now I understand. That is actually the page that was used as a citation in the article; I just didn't realise how it worked. I will remove the "failed verification" tag. --Diannaa (Talk) 22:08, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

FBS are delivered based on what the user is looking at in real-time versus simply where the user is (location). In contrast to augmented reality, which combines location and mobile Internet search to provide information on landmarks in static environments, FBS enables the tracking and tagging of objects (or individuals) in moving or dynamic environments.
