The 2012–13 Superleague Greece will be the 54th season of the highest football league of Greece and the seventh under the name Superleague. The season will begin in late August or early September 2012 and will end in May 2013 with the last matches of the European playoff round.[citation needed] Olympiacos are the defending champions, having won their 39th Greek championship in the 2011–12 season.
The league will comprise thirteen teams from the 2011-12 season and three promoted teams from the 2011–12 Football League.
Teams
Three teams will be relegated at the end of the 2011–12 season. Doxa Drama are already mathematically assured of relegation to the 2012–13 Football League, while the other two teams are still to be determined.
Three teams will be promoted from the 2011–12 Football League, the best two sides of the regular season and the winners of a four-team play-off round. All of these promoted teams are still to be determined.
