That's a moot point, and no reason to have us change. AWKUZU Evidence from Nri tradition holds that Eri was sent by Chukwu (the Creator) from the sky to rule mankind. He came down to Omambala near the present site of Aguleri. His first wife bore Nri, the founder of Agukwu Nri: Agulu, who founded Aguleri: Onogu the father of Igbariam: Ogbududu, the founder of Amanuke, and a daughter, Iguedo, who bore the founders of Nteje, Nando, Ogbunike, Umuleri, and Okuzu. His wife bore Onoja, who left for the upper Omambala near Ogwulugwu and to found Igala land. Ợkụzụ was the son of Nnamenyi, a blacksmith from Awka. The mother of Awkuzu was Iguedo. She was a native of Nri. Okuzu had three sons namely Ezi, Ifite, and Ikenga (the last male child of the three sons). Ezi and Ifite were of the same mother. Ikenga was the only male child of the second wife of Okuzu. Ikenga grew up and married a wife who gave birth to two sons, Ezinkwo and Nkwelle. Ikenga being a daring and skillful hunter had had the terrible experience of losing his children through untimely deaths. This was attributed to hunting and killing of wild animals. He promised he would stop indiscriminate killing of wild animals if his wife would give birth to another male child. When that happened, people near-by shouted, “Nkwa ekweli elee”. From that the child was called, “Nkwa Elee”. Later it evolved to Nkwelle. Other sons of Ikenga were Omachi (Ukpomachi) and Usuogu (Dusogu) borne from another wife of Ikenga. Situated 6º 1' 13 North, 7º 47' 20 East in the world map. According to Nri tradition, in about A.D. 800 Eri movement was based on the general theory of a “South-Ward Push” from plateau land of Northern Igbo in what is known as Omambala. By the founding of Nigeria and subsequent creation of states Okuzu was situated in the present Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State. The community has as its neighbours, Abba, Umunya, Nteje, Nando, Ukpo, Ifite-Dunu, Igbariam, Achalla, Abagana, .

POPULATION CHARACTERISTICS Awkuzu according to 1991 Census report has an estimated population of 35,000 with a projected growth rate of 5% expected to reflect in the 2006 National Population Census report whose breakdown has not been released by the National Population Commission (NPC). The population has an ageing population of about 50%, a calculated median age of 20% with sex ratio of 55:45 for male and female population respectively. It is also a population with high incidence of dependency ratio. And life expectancy is put at 75 years. An upbeat mobile population with high incidence of births outside the community by community members. The family structure of the community is made up of congregation of nuclear families and extended families making up a clan which is the recognized family structure. The literacy level of the community is put at 60%. The language of the people is Igbo language – Igbo Adagbe dialect. Sixty per cent of the community members are Christians and 40% practice traditionalism and animism.

SOCIAL INFRASTRUCTURE The community has a bi-modal system of administration. The Igwe-in-council consisting of the Igwe and Ndi Ichie drawn from all the villages in the community. On the other side is Awkuzu Progressive Union (APU) an elitist forum consisting mainly of an elected president general and his executive members and representatives of wards – a delineation of the community into 53 wards with wards leaders. There are different age grades drawn from different age range namely Udeude (1836-1841), Otakagu (1842-1845) etc. totaling 26. A particular age grade rule over the villages at a particular interval. Some of the major cultural features of the community include Alummo (new yam festival), Ifejioku, Opoto, Onwa Ato, Onwa Asato and Igba Ofala. Interpersonal and traditional communication systems remain the proven channels of communication within the community.

PHYSICAL INFRASTRUCTURE There two major access roads linking it to other communities, they are the Oye-Agu/Awkuzu/Otuocha road a federal road recently rehabilitated by Dr. Chris Ngige administration of Anambra State and provides linkage to the proposed Orient Petroleum Refinery situated at Umuleri and Omambala (Anambra) River. Another access road is the Onitsha/Enugu Express Road that links the community to major cities in South-East Nigeria. The community has a post office, a Police post, a Community Secondary School, a Girls Secondary School, a Centre for Adult Education and Vocational Studies, fourteen pre-primary and primary schools, a recently rehabilitated primary health care facility, four markets for the four market days, a micro-finance bank and a biscuit factory. These are supplemented with private schools and hospitals. A sprawling community with residential buildings made from bricks and modern residential buildings which provides accommodation to most students of co-located Anambra State University, Igbariam. Water supply to the community is done through water from bore holes dug by individual members of the community coupled with water supply from streams which are increasingly becoming deserted. Electricity supply in the community is plagued with epileptic power supply by PHCN under a rural electrification scheme; Awkuzu is in no way immune from regular power cut characterizing Nigerian power supply. This has led to the collapse of small scale industries and on a large scale industries like Akunails Industry and inhibit the growth of industries in the community.

ECONOMIC INFRASTRUCTURE The community possesses a large expanse of land within which farming is done. The major occupations of the indigenes of the community include farming, artisanship, hunting and trading with a workforce that are largely unskilled.

DEVELOPMENTAL NEEDS Awkuzu would need development in the following areas, Education is an area that needs urgent attention. The Community Secondary School has infrastructures that are dilapidated and are in dire need of rehabilitation. In all schools visited the learning environment is such that is not conducive for learning. Close to education is the problem of training of skilled manpower. The youths who are supposed to be in school are out of school. There is the prevalence of low enrolment of male population in schools. There is the need for improvement in electricity supply to the community to support the ever increasing population due to the citing of Anambra State University, Igbariam Campus and industrial growth. Some cultural practices need urgent attention like cases of dehumanizing treatment to women who lost their husbands and cultural practices of spending fortunes to bury the death. This constitutes large economic waste.

The logo image was created by my company's planning department. I just want to replace the old logo with the new. The other image, the one taken of the CNG fueling station was taken by an employee in the planning department on the day of the station grand opening. As for the other image, the copyright owners will need to release the images as per the image use policy - we cannot take your word for it. Also if they gave you permission, then you should upload the pictures to our free image repository, the Commons. I would like to acquire confirmed rights so I can contribute to music albums. It is a hobby of mine to research music and I see a lot of albums daily that either don't have an image uploaded or have an incorrect image uploaded. I enjoy writing about descriptions and updated news for albums and artists and if I had the confirmed rights I could follow through with the whole page including uploading updated images and such. I will only use approved images and files and give credit where credit is due. I will get permission to use copyrighted images. (Non-administrator comment) The covers of albums can be uploaded as non-free files and this way they don't need permission. In the case of pictures about MMA fighters, the copyright owners will need to release the images as per the image use policy (we cannot take your word for it). See also: Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials and Wikipedia:Declaration of consent for all enquiries. Also if they give you permission, then you should upload the pictures to our free image repository, the Commons. Understood 100%. I understand you can't take my word for it but with that being said even if the copyright owners release the image to be used in a bio of the fighter how would you know that it is released for use? Perhaps if you keep a letter as proof of communication between the parties with written permission for use. I plan to make sure everything I upload or edit and any images I obtain will be in 100% legal use. Before I even asked for the confirmed rights I had all intention on doing everything by the book even if I have to go the extra mile and send out e-mails for every picture I may or may not use. Like I said its more of a hobby and type of passion I guess you'd say working on wiki. I've had this account since 07 but unfortunately most of everything I've already done was logged out and recorded under my ip. That was my mistake as I forgot I had the account.
