"New Day" is a song by American hip hop recording artist 50 Cent, released July 27, 2012, as the lead single from his fifth studio album Street King Immortal (2012).[2] The song, produced by Dr. Dre and mixed by Eminem, features vocals from Dr. Dre and Alicia Keys.[3]

Background

The song was originally recorded by Alicia Keys, who released her own version of "New Day" online on 28 June 2012, and she previewed the song earlier in the day.[4] The single was announced during a interview with Digital Spy, uploaded on July 17, 2012. In the same interview he also stated possible appearances of the album: Rihanna and Frank Ocean.[5] The cover art was unveiled on July 17, 2012.[2] The single was premiered with DJ Camilo on Hot97 and then later on Thisis50.[6] On June 28, Swizz Beatz released the solo version of his wife Alicia Keys, "New Day" on the internet, with the beat of the song being different to the 50 Cent's version and being produced by him instead of Dr. Dre.[7][8]
