  • Comment: The sources are good, but the style needs some work. Phrases like "dreamed of a career in professional baseball," "athlete's build," and "Large did just that and has formed a friendship and business relationship" are not encyclopedic in tone. Corey Large

Corey William Large is a Canadian writer, actor and producer of feature movies.[1]

Early years

Large was born and raised in the Prospect Lake area of Sannich, the northwestern part of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada[2] .

After elementary school he enrolled at St. Michael’s University School a private school with alumni like Steve Nash. He was an avid participant in school sports, especially baseball, before injury ended his playing days.

He found found work as a male model and it led to an interest in acting and at 21-years-old he moved across the Georgia Strait and enrolled at the Vancouver Film School[3]and later at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles.[4]

Large has always made it a point to get back to Victoria when he can. He returned to St. Michael's University School [5] to act and direct in Window Theory a movie he also produced which was released in 2005.

Acting with him in that film was Luke Flynn,Hollywood legend Errol Flynn's grandson. The two have collaborated on many projects and are working with former Los Angeles Kings owner Bruce McNall]l to make a movie about the exploits of the original Hollywood swashbuckler called In Like Flynn. That project has been delayed many times but remains a work in progress.[6] Large's relationship with McNall dates back to the mid-1980s when as a young kid Large skipped school to watch the Kings practice before a Vancouver Canucks game. Spotting McNall, he approached him and told him he wanted to go to Los Angles and make movies. McNall told him to look him up if he did.

As promised in July 2012[7] , Large returned to his native Victoria, to begin shooting a series of films starting with the Cannabis Kid, about a teen who becomes a marijuana smuggler.[8]

Career

His early career featured minor parts in shows like 21 Jump Street which was shot in Vancouver, British Columbia with then ingénue Johnny Depp and Breaker High which featured actors like fellow Canadian Ryan Gosling which was shot in Burnaby, B.C.

About the same time he had a background part the 1997 film Excess Baggage staring Alicia Silverstone and in 1998 with a role on ''Disturbing Behavior'' with then unknown Katie Holmes.

Still, while he found some acting roles he soon realized the real opportunities in the industry lay in post-production and financing projects.[9] Today Large splits his time between Santa Monica, Victoria and Hawaii. He is not married.
