The Brown Puffle

In February 2011 the brown puffle was found at the wilderness party. At the 2011 Puffle Party it was able to be adopted in the catalog. Here is its statistics.

Overuse of images

There are way too many non-free images on this article, I don't think there should be a image of every room in this game, definitely. Most of the images are now nominated for deletion anyway. GWPSPØ9Ø7thAdv. 06:15, 1 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Gone

Club Penguin has been gone now for about 24 hours, I wonder what's going on. My son plays there at least weekly, it was there last week. --Molokaicreeper (talk) 20:34, 21 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

According to this MSNBC article, Disney accidentally neglected to renew their clubpenguin.com Internet domain before it expired. They've arranged the renewal, but connection problems remain for some people (which I expect is due to DNS caching). See the article for some more information. —ADavidB 07:41, 22 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much, I knew it wasn't a hack because the domain renewal page came up. It was obvious they forgot to renew it, but darn! Disney? What's the matter with them?... anyway the info you provided was very informative, so they were offline for quite a bit of time (several days), we didn't check until a couple of days ago so I'm guessing the second time I checked they had already been up; but we couldn't get to the site. --Molokaicreeper (talk) 21:21, 22 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

UPDATE: the club penguin page has been fixed for everyone! 9/7/2011

Apps

{{Edit semi-protected}} Please add section 6.3 called Apps. Club Penguin has released two mobile apps called Puffle Launch and Puffle Launch Lite. Puffle Launch is availible on the Apple App Store [1], the Android Market[2], and the Amazon App Store for Android[3]. Puffle Launch Lite is availible on the Apple App Store [4] and the Android Market[5] These games are similar to the Puffle Launch game in the online game, but have different controls and instead of a box dimension level there is a Bonus level.<ref=apple>

Sorry, cannot do that. Can you show any independent references, to show those things are notable? See WP:IRS. If you can, please re-request. Thanks,  Chzz  ►  09:16, 9 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What should I do?

Don't panic; a discussion will now take place over on Commons about whether to remove the file. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion, although please review Commons guidelines before doing so.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.

Armies

Under the Fan websites section, we should put an Armies section. Club Penguin Armies are groups of people who get together and meet, battle, and have tournaments. Examples are: http://cparmycentral.com/ , http://icewarriorsarmy.com/ , and http://nachoarmy.net/ . — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.177.202.90 (talk) 23:56, 30 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Significance

If this article was significant in 2006, then why not create Pandanda, Chobots, Tootsville, Wooz World, Wiglington and Winks, you know, other virtual worlds? I mean, Webkinz and Toontown have articles. Why don't the ones I listed? Just wondering. Be peaceful. Be a Dalai Lama. (talk) 02:00, 11 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If there's reliable source material, and notability, all it takes is for an editor to write the articles. —ADavidB 15:22, 11 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
How is Club Penguin notable? Make a penguin, waddle around. It wasn't the main focus of a feature film or anything. Be peaceful. Be a Dalai Lama. (talk) 00:33, 16 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Club Penguin grew fast and has over 10 million members, more than half of whom have paid memberships, generating tens of millions of dollars a year. Disney bought the company for $350 million. Regardless of the game's underlying simplicity, its popularity and impact are significant. Club Penguin meets the general notability guidelines for an article. —ADavidB 06:50, 16 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

On top of that I saw CNN do a report on something about Club Penguin. I'll dig around for a source and report back. Meva / CHCSPrefect - (I can haz Cheezburger?) 14:02, 2 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Good Ol Old Photos

Hey admins, restore all of the old CP photos from 2012. I'd like to change the licensing to make them good (why licensing? I just take images from Google at other sites and don't even bother to use licenses). WTF? Atum World There's an Acadia for that too! 03:27, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please Fix!

The section Famous penguins says "All famous penguins except Happy77 and Billybob have special stamps and autographed backgrounds because they are special.[citation needed]". Please note that CeCe and Rocky do have backgrounds, but not stamps.

Anyway, the page is protected, so i can't fix this and add these sources, so, if you can, please do it for me :)

Also, you can contact an administrators of the CP wiki to confirm this.

Remove some sections?

I think that the "Character descriptions" section is too in-universe and trivial. I think we should remove it. Does anyone agree? Hadger 03:51, 10 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm just going to be bold and remove that section along with a few others that I think are too in-universe. If anyone disagrees with me, you can undo my edit and discuss them on the talk page. :) Hadger 03:54, 10 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like to request that this information is updated, with the following copy, which brings the section up to date with Club Penguin's current work. Minor edits proposed to current copy.

Please also note that Club Penguin's donation in 2011 was $2 M dollars, not $1.

Disney’s Club Penguin is a virtual world containing a range of online games and activities designed for children. As penguin avatars, players explore a snow-covered island and play with other kids online. While playing is free, a subscription membership allow players to access additional features, such as the ability to access special areas during monthly parties, play exclusive levels of games and use the coins they earn to purchase virtual clothing, design igloos, and adopt in-game pets called “puffles” for their penguins. With a heavy reliance on user feedback, the developers have adopted a policy to add new content each week. During an annual charity giving campaign called Coins For Change, players are given the opportunity to donate their virtual coins and decide how a $1 M donation is divided among different charities to help kids, families and the environment around the world.

Club Penguin, headquartered in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada, is played by kids around the world, and can be viewed in English, German, Portuguese, French and Spanish. The game is specifically designed for ages 6–14, however, anyone of any age is allowed to play Club Penguin. Thus a major focus of the developers has been on child safety, with a number of features introduced to the game to facilitate this — including offering an "Ultimate Safe Chat" mode, whereby users select their comments from a menu; filtering that prevents swearing and the revelation of personal information; and moderators (along with veteran players) who patrol the game.

Club Penguin recently made modifications to their logo. I'm wondering if somebody who has the ability to make a SVG to do so. Thanks. --LordMaster96 21:18, 30 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I do not have an account in the english Wikipedia, but i do have an account in Wikimedia Commons, and uploaded this SVG version. Can someone add it to the article please?

Since there are still by year categories for MMORPGs, please add [[Category:2005 MMORPGs]] to this article's category list. 96.42.44.251 (talk) 01:19, 13 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

As Merrifield later described the situation

Okay, there's a problem here. As I began reading the "History and development" section, the first seven words that read were, "As Merrifield later described the situation" WITHOUT first clarifying who Merrifield was. Can someone please fix this so it makes sense? Thank you. 216.195.228.107 (talk) 00:33, 29 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
