Conflicting Sources
In the article it says the game will take place in Liberty City Modern Day Well..There is another source I found conflicting the others posted by IGN. In the IGN article it states:
- "Dubbed Chinatown Wars, this will be a wholly original game, apparently not set in familiar locales like Liberty City or Vice City."
The information provided above is incorrect, according to the link from IGN provided IGN article it is stated that "Dubbed Chinatown Wars, this will be a wholly original game despite being set in the familiar locale of Liberty City." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.228.43.254 (talk) 17:27, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
Should we remove the info about Liberty City for now until more comes or leave it on there. --҉ რɫՒ◌§ 9¤ ॐ 18:06, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
- I believe Crazy Cammie said it would take place in Liberty City, and despite her strange annoyingness, I think that's more reliable than IGN (they got the name for Animal Crossing: City Folk wrong, I wouldn't be surprised if this is as well). --.:Alex:. 18:32, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

My new N-Gamer states it is the same Liberty City and they have a Map of the games world whic his the same as GTA4s minus one area. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.240.135.137 (talk) 14:50, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
I have the game and police cars have LCPD on the side and the name liberty city is also mentioned. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.125.162.199 (talk) 21:41, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
Why is it Nintendo DS only ? Seems a weird business decision. The PSP outsells the DS in US and Europe. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 222.246.59.116 (talk) 06:50, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
- I think you'll find that you are mistaken. By a long shot. --.:Alex:. 14:49, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
Gameplay Section
This section needs revision. It is loaded with pre-release speculations that apparently did not make it to the final cut. Examples include the section about recruiting triad members off the street, which is not possible. The section about the CCTV cameras is also inaccurate as they are not "shootable" and do not effect the drug prices in the city. I would change the information, but I really don't know what to replace it with. 68.7.194.185 (talk) 21:26, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
- Actually, the bit about CCTV cameras is kinda accurate - no, they're not shootable, but they can be destroyed by using Molotov Cocktails instead. (I don't know what it does to drug prices, though.) DitzyNizzy (aka Jess)|(talk to me)|(What I've done) 13:42, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
- the gameplay been reedit to the actual game facts.. but needs more wikipedia-ish finishing, the info is random Silver mask cube (talk) 11:56, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
On Huang Lee's Chinese name
Is Lee the surname, or is it Huang? Given his uncle is Kenny Lee, I think that Lee is the one. That way, his Chinese name should be 李黃 instead of 黃李.--Alasdair 18:01, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
His surname is Lee.But there's a bit of a problem there;see, there's a name of his in cantonese and another in mandarin...Know-howpt (talk) 16:13, 12 June 2012 (UTC)
"Different presentation"
"Chinatown Wars has a different presentation from previous games in the series. " Are we forgetting the first two games in the series then? Kelvingreen (talk) 19:43, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
Review Reference Missing
I added an external link to a useful review for GTA:CTW, but I don't see it anymore. This link worked and was formatted properly like the other external reviews on the page. Does anyone know why this happened? This is my first time submitting to the site, so I apologize for weighing the rest of you down! =D 68.72.101.27 (talk) 00:57, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
- Hi. Thanks for your addition, but the review you added was removed because it did not meet the criteria for notability as it was a user-submitted review. Please take a look at this page for more information on what sort of sources are appropriate for video game articles. And don't apologise. You were being bold which is encouraged. Please take a look at this page for some general guidance with getting started on contributing to Wikipedia. If you plan on staying, you may want to register and join the WikiProject Video games. Thanks again. Chimpanzee - User | Talk | Contribs 07:22, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you for the helpful information! I'll definitely look into the WikiProject group. Although I now understand about 'user-submitted' reviews, I know that StageSelect.com content must be moderated/approved before it is posted regardless of the author, whereas Wikipedia does not. Does this affect their validity and reason to be referenced here? Many of the reviews I've seen from their site are very useful, so I wanted to share them on Wikipedia as well. =) Thanks again.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.90.178.130 (talk • contribs)
- Essentially, sources must be reliable. Regardless of whether or not the reviews on the site are moderated, the users' opinions are not notable for Wikipedia as the player's background, knowldege, etc it not known. This is why only reviewers who have established themselves as reliable or are officially published and endorsed by reliable publications are used. One last note: It's considered bad form to edit other users' talk page comments. Even spelling mistakes. Besides, I'm English so "apologise" is correct anyway and wasn't a spelling mistake! :) Chimpanzee - User | Talk | Contribs 19:31, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

Sorry, it was completely force-of-habit...used to work for a technical publisher. Thanks again for the help! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.90.178.130 (talk) 20:04, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
Huang's Hometown
Is certianly not Liberty City. It's never specified what city he's born in, but dialouge in Chinatown Wars and his cameo in GTA IV's police database confirm he was born somewhere in China. 69.121.179.87 (talk) 13:08, 26 July 2009 (UTC) this rocks! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.38.208.178 (talk) 22:57, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
He was born either in Kowloon(where his father was killed) or Hong Kong(I guess it appears somewhere in the game).Just watch the first mission's cinematic.Know-howpt (talk) 14:37, 29 April 2012 (UTC)
Well, actually I've investigated and Kowloon is in Hong Kong.Know-howpt (talk) 16:17, 12 June 2012 (UTC)
Gameplay Differences
there should be a small section where it mentions the differences of the game play between different platforms, since the DS has touch screen, the PSP only uses buttons & for future references about the iPhone/iPod Touch gameplay All in favor say I Silver mask cube (talk) 04:38, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
