It's here instead. Longwayround (talk) 16:41, 24 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Rock?

I don't want to be a pedant (but I will, I will), but "rock music" probably gives a misleading impression of the programme's content. Regularly it is pop, rock, reggae, blues, soul, and occasionally hip-hop, techno, calypso and numerous other styles. Perhaps "an eclectic range of popular music, including pop, rock, reggae, blues, soul, and occasionally hip-hop, techno, calypso and numerous other styles" would be a more accurate description? -- John Fader 02:06, 26 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Later...

Should this page be at Later... with Jools Holland? What's the official title? --Sum0 13:51, 23 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've moved it back there per the title card image I added to the article. - Dudesleeper Talk 23:44, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not "fully live"

It's quIte clear that the Tuesday programme is recorded; as the Friday version often includes longer versions of interviews from which the middle section is omitted on Tuesdays. Andy Mabbett (User:Pigsonthewing); Andy's talk; Andy's edits 23:27, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's interesting. I see that they sell tickets for 8 pm and the show goes out at 10 (BBC). It could be that from 10-10.30 is a live finale plus snippets of interviews from earlier on. Hakluyt bean (talk) 11:45, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Separately, checking the 2 versions available to me atm the Tuesday session features more than one performance of a song in the studio. The version broadcast live on Tuesday isn't necessarily the version featured on the Friday broadcast. eg: Sia (Live on Tuesday) and Sia (Friday broadcast). Hakluyt bean (talk) 12:13, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Guys I can clear this up, just got back from a recording, they record the Friday/Saturday show first, take a little break then the (slightly shorter) Tuesday one DOES go out live, as proven my the falling over tonight... (the bands Do play some of the same songs and the interviews are the same but shorter...) Hope that clears things up.

Separate page for episode list

So, if and when the complete list of all guest on Later... is completed, this page will be very long. Perhaps it would be wiser to move the listing of episodes to a separate page and instead list various statistics on this page, like most appearances by a single artist, etc. Rascalb (talk) 01:19, 7 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

maybe a page...list of artists which have appeared on etc. etc....? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.228.57.122 (talk) 09:18, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, and I suggest that we do it like the standard episode lists on here, so it'd look something like this and would be linked by the No. of series and No. of episodes (List of episodes) in the infobox on this page. HeadlightMorning (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 12:17, 11 August 2009 (UTC).[reply]

I didn't know how to relate this wiki page and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Later..._with_Jools_Holland_episodes so I started to copy things to this page. Does anyone have a strong opinion of which option is the best, to have all episodes on this page or on the "List of Later..." page?Bossebula (talk) 21:50, 2 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've linked the List_of_Later..._with_Jools_Holland_episodes and removed the section from this one. Longwayround (talk) 16:49, 24 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No mention of The Roots

Just thought i would point out that in the list of people who have featured in the show it fails to mention The Roots.

Misleading: Holland often also accompanies his guests' performances, with mixed results

"Holland often also accompanies his guests' performances, with mixed results - Mark E. Smith of the Fall insisted that he would only appear on the show if Holland would promise not to play piano over any of his songs."

That is very misleading. - Mark E. Smith said in an interview: "I wouldn't have anybody messing about with The Fall's stuff, not just Jools."

About the criticisms section

Should the criticisms section be of more general criticisms than simply saying that some out of Def Leppard complained because Jools Holland would not let them on the show because they were not cool enough? ACEOREVIVED (talk) 15:34, 5 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
