Thank you

Wtwilson3; your reconsideration is much appreciated. Very best, 99.149.85.229 (talk) 12:44, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I goofed. It's not yet 8:00 AM here and I'm too tired. Glad we figured it out. —    Bill W.    (Talk)  (Contrib)  — 12:48, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It's understood. What's unusual is for a registered account to so quickly acknowledge and revert a hasty template on an IP user. That alone merits compliments. Cheers, 99.149.85.229 (talk) 12:52, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, if you think it merits inclusion, you can restore mention of the school's other sports, without the long unreferenced explanations of county regulations, which seemed a bit POV. I've opted for leaving them out, since the article is otherwise well sourced. 99.149.85.229 (talk) 12:55, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Stewart Varnado

Before reverting again, let's discuss it Talk:Stewart Varnado.--I am One of Many (talk) 18:11, 28 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sure. I've also started a thread at the BLP noticeboard, where you're welcome to contribute [1]. Thanks, 99.149.85.229 (talk) 18:56, 28 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Yintan. I wanted to let you know that I undid one of your recent contributions, such as the one you made with this edit to Raycom Sports, because it didn’t appear constructive to me. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks.  Yinta 20:28, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Walking away...

...until I've had a drink. 99.149.85.229 (talk) 21:01, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

hahahahahaha this made me smile. Seriously buddy, get an account. It was what I did. I got red up with it. My only regret is that I didnt do it sooner. -- MisterShiney 21:03, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Got one, 50,000 edits, helped build a genre here. Like to travel masked now. Write for publication, fiddle around here when bored. Very mysterious. Returning to cave, perhaps to write a piece on the travails of IPs who attempt to edit on Wikipedia. A lot of registered accounts need to read WP:HUMAN; in fact, it should be required reading before one is allowed to register. Now to see what's left in the cooler. 99.149.85.229 (talk) 21:09, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I see your Raycomm Sports point but a clearer edit summary would have helped. Deleting 38K of article text because "we've been through this crap" didn't give me the right signal, nor did the lack of discussion on the Talk page. But you're right, spam it is. Sorry if I've driven you to drink ;-)  Yinta 21:25, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
(now fortified with a Blue Moon) I'm not inclined to go far down this rabbit hole, nor seek to chastise individuals, but I've edited here a long time, and done a lot of instant rollbacking myself. The full edit summary was "we've been through this crap; self-promotion and copyvio", which would have prompted me to run a Google search on the content in question before reverting. In each instance I was reverted reflexively, the implication being that none of the reverting editors bothered reading the edit summaries, but preferred to focus on the amount of deleted content; in one case it was explained that I'd removed all the article's history. If I weren't inclined to soft-shoe I would have been justified doling out copyright violation warnings, which would have unnecessarily amped up the proceedings, but also would have made the point re: editorial sloppiness, quickness on the trigger, and arrogance when dealing with IP editors. That said, your note's appreciated, and I'm an exceedingly light drinker, so no harm is done. Also, in the past I've actually been templated up to my eyebrows over situations like this, so I appreciate that those who reverted me were somewhat circumspect; i.e., the culture on Wikipedia is improving, but still has a ways to go. Closing the book on this. 99.149.85.229 (talk) 22:07, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Fine with me. One thing, though. Maybe I was too trigger happy, but "arrogance when dealing with IP editors" is not something you can accuse me of. I'm just as trigger happy with registered users ;-) Cheers and happy editing,  Yinta 22:22, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I have no doubt that all the editors meant well. To reiterate, I was not chastising specific individuals, and have no desire to prolong the discussion. Per my clearly stated wishes, I'm requesting that the topic be closed here. 99.149.85.229 (talk) 22:35, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
