According to Azerbaijani historians the March Massacre was the killing of a massive number of ethnic Azerbaijani in March 30 to April 1 in 1918 by Armenian and Bolshevik forces. In just only three days according to Justin McCarthy 12,000 Azeris were killed in Baku alone. Eyewitnesses described the city as a slaughterhouse, it was so full of dead bodies that one could not walk normal on the streets without stepping on a body.

In Shamakhy district, the number of victims reached 7,000 in April 1918. In the Guba district more then 3,000 Jews were murdered, the number of villages ruined comprised 122. Rovshan Mustafayev who is the director of the Human Rights Institute of the National Academy of Science, stated that about 3,000 Jews were also killed during the March Massacre in the Guba region [1]. Israeli ambassador Arthur Lenk has stated that Israel will be involved in scrutinizing the developments of the investigation. Azerbaijan's Georgian Jews Community is also offering their help in restoring historical truth.
