Persijap, an acronym for Persatuan Sepak Bola Indonesia Jepara is an Indonesian football club based in Jepara, Central Java. In media, the tautology Persijap Jepara is often used.

History

Persijap is formed in 11 April 1954.[1] The club has a yoyo club reputation due to its positions in the Liga Indonesia having been relegated and promoted often. Currently, Persijap plays in the Indonesia Super League. In the 1930s, born in Jepara formed by two Dutch football clubs. Namely Y.V.C (Yapara Voedbal Club) and Alsides. Thus the embryo of Jepara was rooted football since the Dutch colonization. Football Jepara in short span of time has become a popular sport can be. In every corner of the village of football was played. After the Dutch defeated and invaded the nation of Indonesia in Japan, two of the club eventually disbanded. But it turned out later, as sports people, football was increasingly growing. Seeing the development of football in Jepara, Jepara Regent Sahlan Ridwan (1954) wishes to set up a squad's Jepara regency. This idea is based on a growing number of clubs grew. That year later recorded as the anniversary of the founding Persijap Jepara exactly on 11 April 1954.

Stadium

Persijap played at the Kamal Djunaedi Stadium, Jepara until 2007 before moved to a new stadium in Jepara, Gelora Bumi Kartini Stadium in 2008.[1][2]

Supporters

Persijap Jepara's supporters call themselves Jetmania (Jepara Tifosi Mania) and Banaspati (Barisan Supporter Persijap Sejati en: Line of Real Supporter Pesijap). They are amongst Indonesia's most passionate and fanatical supporters.[citation needed] They're also the big enemy of PSIS Semarang, its Panser Biru (Pasukan Semarang Biru, Team of Semarang Blue) and Snex (Supporter Semarang Extreme).

Persijap Jepara have a very tough competitor in the League of PSIS Semarang. Since the beginning of the meeting of the league, this game usually called Old Indonesia derby. This game is also often called the Central Java Derby. Persijap Jepara still dominating victory and become the ruler of football in Central Java.
