Rollback

(add requestview requests)

User:Insulam Simia

Hello, I've been an editor for more than two weeks now with more than 530 edits. I would like to fight vandalism easier, so it would be helpful if I had rollback (use things like STiki etc.). Thanks. Insulam Simia (talk/contribs) 20:31, 10 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
(Non-administrator comment) you can use stiki without this permission. If you have over 1000 main space edits you will be able to use stiki. You can also get special permission at Wikipedia_talk:STiki if you don't have 1000 article edits or rollback. FalkirksTalk 22:39, 12 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Well it would be nice to have rollback anyway. Insulam Simia (talk/contribs) 18:32, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
(Non-administrator comment) I agree with that. FalkirksTalk 02:23, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Not done. Rollback is strictly for vandalism only. You have made 318 mainspace edits. 73 were reverts but not all of them were for vandalism. I would like to see you on Wikipedia for a bit longer and having made a significant number of pure vandalism reverts to give us some thing to measure. Having rollback rights would allow me to use Huggle and better fight vandalism on Wikipedia. EnglishEfternamn*t/c* 02:59, 11 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Not done You've only just returned from a very long block, so I would say you are are more or less a new user, and the main thing you've done since your return is mass-welcoming new users, some of whom have never even made an edit. that does not instill confidence that you know how to properly use rollback or other advanced permissions. (and please be sure users have made at least one edit before welcoming them. Dozens of never-to-be-used accounts are created every day, there's no point in welcoming them and the community has repeatedly rejected the notion of just robotically dropping welcome messages to every single registered account.) Requesting rollback to fight against vandalism, because i would like to contribute and not to destroy others work, furthermore if people are viewing an accurate and tidy page will bring more and more visitors due to their satisfaction (Argento1985) 15:07, 11 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Not done Looking at some of your recent reverts I am unconvinced you have sufficient understanding of the distinction between WP:VANDALISM and other types of edits. Beeblebrox (talk) 23:13, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I have been a regular contributor on Wikipedia since September 2006. I have done 375 edits and created 5-10 new pages. I would like to support Wikipedia in regulating vandalism and make the platform more accurate and reliable Rejoice talk 22:39, 12 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Not done While your contributions are welcome you don't really seem to have a track record of dealing with vandalism. Communication is an important part of such activity, but I see only one user talk edit in the last two-and-a-half years, and that was the addition of a "you've got mail" template. I am requesting rollback to combat vandalism. I am frequent user of STiki and have almost 300 classifications so far. I am also an active recent changes patroller and have reverted a lot of vandalism quickly using twinkle. I would like to use rollback tools to deal with serious vandalism cases and to use in conjunction with huggle. FalkirksTalk 22:59, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I absolutely love the value of information I am able to get from Wikipedia. For nearly 5 or 6 years now, I have used Wikipedia almost daily to look up anything I can imagine. Lately, in the last few weeks/months I've gotten much more serious about Wikipedia, as I came to appreciate just how important keeping true, correct information up on a site is. The thing is, anyone can get true and or correct information; however the problem is monetary value. If you really want high quality, reputable sources of information, a given person almost certainly has to pay for it in subscription fee's to expensive academic journals. That is where I see Wikipedia real value, no cost high quality information. I will continue contributing to Wikipedia for as long as I am alive most likely, but I do hope to increase my own value to wiki as well. Thank you for your time.

Not done. This request makes me wonder if you even know what it is you are requesting. As you have provided no reason why you desire the rollback right it is not granted at this time. Beeblebrox (talk) 20:28, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you but I know exactly what I am requesting, and was just trying to show a little enthusiasm for the topic. After reading request reasons from other people on this page, and how little they seemed to even care, I thought you all might actually appreciate someone who puts a tiny bit of thought into the request... and I thought I made it clear what my reason was, to keep Wikipedia updated with valid information, by rolling back vandalism. Thanks EzPz (talk) 22:07, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You only have around 300 edits to mainspace and only around 70 of them are reverts. if you had read the many declined requests above you would probably have noticed that we rarely grant the use of the tool at that level. Do continue to revert clear cases of vandalism, and apply again when you have racked up a couple of hundred so that we have something to measure. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 01:44, 16 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I did notice, just figured it doesn't hurt to try. Ok, I'll keep patrolling and come back in a few hundred reverts.
