Samsung Galaxy Note series refers to Android Smartphone-Phablets and Tablet computers which come from the Samsung GALAXY series and includes smart phones with large screens and S Pens as well as tablets with the S Pen technology.[1] The devices are designed and manufactured by the South Korean company Samsung Electronics. Handwriting recognition is provided by Vision Objects[2].

Phablet-Smartphones
Galaxy Note
At the IFA 2011 in Berlin, Samsung announced the original Galaxy Note. It is a phablet with a 5.3-inch screen size which is between that of the conventional smartphones, and the larger tablet. It also comes with its own stylus pen which Samsung calls the S-Pen.
Galaxy Note II
On August 29, 2012 at the Berlin Radio Show, Samsung announced the successor to the original Galaxy Note which was called the Galaxy Note II. The Galaxy Note II is a phablet with a bigger 5.55-inch screen than its predecessor. Like the original Galaxy Note, the Galaxy Note II also comes with its own stylus pen which Samsung calls the S-Pen.
Tablet PCs
Galaxy Note 8.0
At the Mobile World Congress 2013, Samsung announced the Galaxy Note 8.0. It has a 8 inch display and uses a quad-core 1.6 GHz processor and, like the Galaxy Note 10.1, supports the Samsung S-Pen.
Galaxy Note 10.1
At the Mobile World Congress 2012, Samsung announced the Galaxy Note 10.1, as an alternative to the Galaxy Tab 10.1. It has a 10.1-inch display and uses a quad-core 1.4 GHz processor and supports the Samsung S-Pen input as seen on the original Galaxy Note phone.
