Night Time, My Time is the debut studio album by American recording artist Sky Ferreira, released on October 29, 2013. The album was preceded by two EP's, 2011's As If! and 2012's Ghost, as well as the first single taken from the album, "You're Not the One".

Background

Following the release of debut singles "17", "One" and "Obsession" in 2010, it was announced through a press release that Ferreira's album would be released on January 11, 2011.[2] However, the album was postponed and an extended play titled As If! was announced for release on March 22, 2011 by Capitol Records.[3]

In November 2011, Ferreira announced on her official Facebook page that her debut album was expected to be released during the summer of 2012 and the first single in February 2012.[4] In December 2011, Ferreira announced that she was working with Jon Brion, Shirley Manson, and Greg Kurstin for her debut album.[5] On January 23, 2012, Ferreira revealed the title of her debut album, Wild at Heart.[6] On February 7, 2012, Ferreira confirmed "Swamp Girl" and "24 Hours" as the titles of two tracks from Wild at Heart.[7]

In an interview with Marie Claire on June 5, 2013, Ferreira announced that the final album title was I Will and that was set to be released "later this summer".[8] Musically, she said of the album, "I guess it's ten up-tempo songs, all still pretty electronic, although for some reason it comes across more pop-rocky live."[9] On July 12, 2013, Ferreira confirmed to British GQ that the album had been delayed until 2014, and that a new EP titled I Will would be released in autumn 2013.[10][11] On August 4, 2013, the EP title was confirmed to have changed to You're Not the One and a release date of September 16 was confirmed.[12]

On August 29, 2013, Ferreira posted a picture on Facebook with the caption "done".[13] On September 4, 2013, Ferreira posted on Facebook, saying she had a confirmed album release date in 2013.[14] On October 10, 2013, Ferreira shared the cover art for the album, shot by Gaspar Noé, in its censored form on her Instagram account.[15] The uncensored version was later published by Pitchfork.[16]
