License tagging for Image:TruthVsBush.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:TruthVsBush.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Thanks for uploading Image:BCCrest.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Hello

[edit]

Hi. I am wondering whether you have got something mixed up. The BMW X7 has not been confirmed by BMW, unlike the BMW X6 that has. I am wondering if you got the X7 confused with the X6. I think the BMW X7 page needs to be deleted as it is quite low on confirmed information and is full of words like 'probably' and 'maybe'. BMW X7 rumours and autobild's have been circulating for ages, and none have been confirmed. I also think that the picture you included is just a 7 Series on high wheels. No spy photos or spy cars, I am pretty sure of it, have been seen therefore it is not confirmed, rumoured or speculated. Please consider whether the article should be deleted and then if spy photos/confirmation by BMW is floating around then start the page. It is like creating a BMW 4 Series page when people thought the 4 Series would be created, even though no spy cars were around. I think you should wait a while and then wait until spy cars or confirmation by BMW AG is seen on a such car. Wjs13 07:46, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed that you blanked the X7 page most likely in regards to the above post from Wjs13. While I agree the page should be deleted, blanking is not the way to go about it. I have nominated the article for deletion which is the proper way to deal with articles like this, see: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/BMW X7. Take a look at WP:AFD and WP:CSD to understand how the deletion process works. And let me know if you have any questions, I'm always happy to help. --Daniel J. ya, I'm still kinda getting used to wikipedia but doing better, thanks for the help Laxplayer630
No problem, happy to help. I moved your comment from my userpage to my talk page. Comments and questions are supposed to go here. The userpage is generally only to be edited by the user themselves. I don't want to dump a whole bunch of rules and regs on you but you should also sign you post on talk pages (not mainspace pages) by adding four ~(tildas) to the end of every post. Wikipedia will autmatically add your name and a time stamp to the end of the post. I will post this message both on your talk and on mine, but generally it is best to keep it all the page it originated from. In this case it would be your userpage I have added your talk page to my watchlist so if you respond there I will see it. Good luck and have fun editing Wikipedia, again I'm happy to help with anything. --Daniel J. Leivick 05:13, 30 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Chrysler 180

[edit]

I've come here to apologise to you because I passed the Chrysler 180 article as a good article without realising it had already been partially reviewed by yourself. I probably should have checked WP:GAC beforehand, but I received the notice from Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Automobiles. If you do have any concerns about the article, please include them on the article talk page so the nominator can take them into practice. File source problem with File:TodTheiseStock.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:TodTheiseStock.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 04:54, 15 July 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 04:54, 15 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:051410 meadowlandslogo.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:051410 meadowlandslogo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Courcelles 04:41, 1 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Notification of automated file description generation

[edit]

Your upload of File:BeergartenenMunich.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks!
