Career
Club
Inkoom began his career with Sekondi Hasaacas.[1] On 26 April 2009 he moved for an undisclosed fee[2] from Asante Kotoko to FC Basel in the Swiss Super League[3] on a three-year contract.[4] He made his Basel debut in a 2–0 defeat to FC St. Gallen on 12 July 2009, at the AFG Arena.[5] He was a member of their double trophy winning team in 2010.[6][7]
On 23 January 2011 he moved to FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk. On 30 October 2011 in a league game against FC Karpaty Lviv, Inkoom received a yellow card for taking his shirt off while leaving the pitch to be substituted by Yevhen Shakhov. This was Inkoom's second yellow card of the game and he received a red card and Shakhov could not come on.[8] His side were able to hold out for the 2–0 away win though.[9]
International
The right defender is a former member of the Black Satellites. He played with the team at 2009 African Youth Championship in Rwanda.[10] The team emerged the winner at that tournament[11] Inkoom played his first game for the senior side, the Black Stars, on 20 November 2008 against Tunisia.[12] He received his first start for Ghana in the World Cup qualifier against Benin on 28 March, which Ghana won 1–0. Inkoom, formerly, was a member of the Black Starlets.[13] He was in the extended squad for the 2005 FIFA U-17 World Championship in Peru.[14] He was not nominated for the tournament squad. After that competition, Inkoom aided Ghana in winning the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup by holding Brazil to a 0–0 score over 120 minutes, and then, when the game went to a penalty shootout, took the second spot-kick for Ghana and scored, giving Ghana the victory.
Inkoom made his World Cup debut on 26 June 2010, starting on the right wing against the United States in a Last-16 knockout game, which Ghana won 2–1 in extra time.
