Ali Asgar alternately known as Ali Azgar (25 July 1966), is an Indian actor. He has worked as a comedian in many Indian films (Bollywood) and television. He was the winner of the Comedy Circus 1, a television comedy series with Kashif Khan, and of Comedy circus ke taansen with Kapil Sharma. He is popular for his role as Kamal Agarwal in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki. He currently appears as Dolly (Bittu's Grandmother) in a comedy sitcom known as Comedy Nights with Kapil.

Biography

Bollywood

Asgar began working at an early age. He has performed many supporting roles in many Bollywood movies during the 1990s. In the 2000s, he did supporting roles in many popular movies. In 2004, he performed as Deepak in Aitbaar and as Rahul in Stop! He later performed in Partner (2007) and Sunday (2008). His most recent film was Tees Maar Khan which released on 24 December 2010.

Television

His first popular role was in a children's program called Ek Do Teen Char on Doordarshan in mid-late 1980s wherein he was one of four starring children who were amateur detectives and the group worked against the social evils and routine robberies. He has a height of 5 feet 3 inches, something which he mentions in many of his jokes.

Ali Asgar has done many successful roles in the television industry. He acted in Dil Vil Pyar Vyar, where he played the role of an engineer with Swapnil Joshi and Vishal Kotian. His most popular role was of Kamal Agarwal in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki. He has appeared on Comedy Circus where he took part in a competition and formed a pair with Pakistani Kashif Khan. Ali and Kashif became the first champions of Comedy Circus on 8 September 2007 against Swapnil Joshi and VIP. He played the lead role in F.I.R. as Inspector Raj Aryan; he left the show after he joined the reality show Shaadi 30 million Ki, as host. He is currently seen in 'Jeannie Aur Juju' on Sab TV as Vicky/Vikram Khanna/Juju in main lead role and as Dadi (Grandmother) on Comedy Nights with Kapil, which appears on the channel Colors.
