reversions on Educational game page

Hi Cshanesimpson, it looks like have our first edit conflict. Your edits were reverted by another editor who objects to your use of primary sources. Do notice in the comments, that they note that your edits were good faith, so it is likely that this editor is ultimately benevolent. I believe this editor is objecting under the framework of WP:NOR but I could be misunderstanding it, though it seems that this is merely a summary of existing research, thus not original research, so I'm a little confused. User:Pharos and User:Mozucat can you offer some guidance here re: whether this is a legitimate objection, and pending that clarification, can you either approach the editor on their talk page to discuss and/or ask for further clarification, or make a revised summary. --Theredproject (talk) 18:44, 27 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Berger Text.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. User:Deltamouse09 and sensitive periods

Hello, I take it you are the course instructor of the program in which User:Deltamouse09 has been working on the topic of sensitive periods. Unfortunately we're having a bit of an issue there, not with Deltamouse's own work, but with the scope and nature of the whole page as it stood previously, which has led me to wanting the whole page redirected to another. I realize you might have an expert opinion on this, so your input would be welcome at Talk:Sensitive periods. Thanks, – Fut.Perf. 16:33, 3 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Article draft space

Hi, I don't know if you're aware of this situation but the students' work has been moved here in case they have a midnight deadline (or, as is often the case, are unclear about the deadline). The draft page will be deleted in about a week - if that's enough time for you. Thanks, Victoria (tk) 01:32, 11 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for letting me know about this particular issue! I spoke with this group in class today and they've assured me that they will continue any future work in a group member's Sandbox. The assignment for this course has already been completed, so I don't anticipate any further edits on this particular page, but I will closely monitor any progress that occurs outside of their Sandbox.Cshanesimpson (talk) 21:59, 11 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Happy to speak

About editing Wikipedia if you are interested. Can likely provide some guidance to help things go smoother. Best Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 02:59, 11 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It appears a lot of your students have added copyright violations to Wikipedia and no one is cleaning up after them per [1].
The proposal is to roll back all of your classes edits. Obviously this situation makes me very sad. Best Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 06:49, 11 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I'd love to chat with you further about some of these issues, if you're open to it. Although I've taught the subject of this course consistently, this was my first experience taking the course to Wikipedia. I think getting feedback from current editors could provide myself (and other instructors) with incredibly valuable feedback about further structures that we can put in place as preventative measures to help students more thoroughly understand how to appropriately edit and how to add these edits to an open environment.Cshanesimpson (talk) 22:33, 11 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Plagiarism

I didn't realize how sensitive Wikipedia was with "plagiarism" and I formally apologize for any hoopla that this may have caused, I was conflicted initially with having to paraphrase the information and subtracting some important aspects, since I wanted everyone to have access to the information provided in the article, but now that all my contributions to my page were taken down even though I successfully cited everything, I quickly just got to the point of the article and just posted that on my page since the deadline was today. I don't know if this is a huge deal or not but again I am really sorry if this affects any research you are doing.
