The 2015 UEFA Super Cup will be the 40th edition of the UEFA Super Cup, an annual football match organised by UEFA and contested by the reigning champions of the two main European club competitions, the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League. The match will feature the winners of the 2014–15 UEFA Champions League and the 2014–15 UEFA Europa League. It will be played at the Mikheil Meskhi Stadium in Tbilisi, Georgia,[1] on 11 August 2015 (tentative schedule, to be officially confirmed).[2]
Venue
The Mikheil Meskhi Stadium was announced as the venue of the Super Cup at the UEFA Executive Committee meeting on 30 June 2012.[1] This will be the first UEFA Super Cup hosted in Georgia since the match was moved away from its long-term base of Monaco in 2013.
The Mikheil Meskhi Stadium opened in 2001. It is the home stadium of the Georgia national football team and FC Lokomotivi Tbilisi.
