Syed Asrar Shah (born 20 April 1985)[1] better known as Asrar is a Pakistani singer, song writer and music producer from Lahore, Pakistan. He mostly sings Sufi music and is well known for his song ‘Ishaq Hawa Mein’ which he has also performed at the Pond’s Celebration of Miracle Women, at the Mohatta Palace.[2][3] [4][5]
Early Life
Asrar was born on April 20, 1985 in Azad Kashmir, Pakistan later in 1992 his family moved to Hyderabad, Sindh. From early age, he was inspired by Sufi music and started writing his own songs.
Career
Asrar received training from Ustad Sultan Ahmed Khan.
In 2007 he moved to Lahore where he participated in Pakistan Musical Conference and stood first.
In 2011 Asrar released his debut single ‘Nai Saiyo’ which quickly gained popularity.

Comparison with Rabbi Shergill
After releasing his first song Sub Aakho Ali Ali in Coke Studio Season 7, Asrar was compared to Rabbi Shergill. He respond by saying: “Maybe, it’s because of my beard.”
He also said, "There are two types of audiences; the first comprises the general public and the second, music experts. The general audience might have seen my performance and compared it to Rabbi’s, but the experts have always commended my pitch, throw and style and referred to it as ‘unique’."
Asrar has also started his own music production company by the name of Soul Speaks.[8]
Personal Life
According to Asrar he belongs to Syed family and was not encouraged for music by his parents but he continued learning music. “I come from a Syed family, so performing arts, such as music, was not something my parents encouraged,” said Asrar
