Dilwale (soundtrack)

Dilwale is the soundtrack album, composed by Pritam Chakraborty, to the 2015 Hindi film of the same name, directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Red Chillies Entertainment that stars Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in lead roles, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon in supporting roles. Gerua was released as the first single prior to the soundtrack album release.[3] The second single released song was Manma Emotion Jaage.[4] The album features seven tracks, and was released on December 4, 2015 by Sony Music India.[5]
Development
Pritam Chakraborty was hired by Rohit Shetty to compose for Dilwale.[6] In an interview Pritam said that,"When Rohit approached to compose the album for Dilwale last year, I remember it was Shah Rukh's birthday that day. I was excited, yes; but when I heard Kajol was signed on as the cast, that's when I felt the pressure, to live up to the legacy of that romance that has symbolised their love story on screen for 20 years."[6] In an interview with Indian Express Pritam said,‘Dilwale’ is a movie which has song situations which demand popular songs. So, the pressure on ‘Dilwale’ is high.[7] Pritam stated: "The song has an old nostalgia to it, where the melody retains the key flavour of Shah Rukh-Kajol love song; in this case, one that's picturised in Iceland."[8]
