Merger proposal

I propose that Iron Pipeline be merged into arms trafficking. Wikipedia is not a dictionary, and the fact is that "Iron Pipeline" or "Iron River" is just a catchy name for an arms trafficking route. Wikipedia is about concepts, not terms. This entire article could be summed up in a single sentence in the arms trafficking article. Faceless Enemy (talk) 01:56, 26 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Support. Be BOLD and just do it. –Fredddie 04:03, 26 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Done, thanks for the input. Faceless Enemy (talk) 22:50, 26 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I think we should add any and all additional coverage, I just haven't had time. There could be more to IP than first was thought. I've seen quite a few mentions of it as well, from some RS. I think it is maintaining a notable amount of attention in the media along the East coast, more so than the rest of the country. Darknipples (talk) 22:51, 7 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I'm going to Wikipedia:Give an article a chance, but I still think this would be better off growing in the larger arms trafficking article. Faceless Enemy (talk) 23:20, 7 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
"Iron Pipeline" and "guns" on Google delivers almost 9000 hits, many of them quality sources. In Google Books it delivers three or four pages of solid hits. So I think there's enough evidence for a standalone article. Drmies (talk) 01:30, 8 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Expansion

Anyone have a suggestion for an appropriate Infobox for this article? Also, I have no idea where Hwy 95 runs, so an image of that plus a graphic of the states involved might be nice.

Plus, what about the guns that leave the country? Isn't there a component of this that involves guns going to Mexico? Shouldn't the ATF debacle known as Operation Fast and Furious be mentioned? --Scalhotrod (Talk) ☮ღ☺ 15:31, 8 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
