Somebody had probably a lot of fun with the timeline of this app. I don't know it, but it seems contradictory with other sources. Should be addressed by specialists. Lvr (talk) 16:20, 22 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Adding Information on User Privacy and Security

Hello, I am planning to add to the privacy and security section, particularly user privacy and security and how Snapchat changed its policies after getting into legal issues. Also, I added a section on the Snap Spam. I put everything into the article and would appreciate any feedback. Thank you for your time! Arieltinglee (talk) 5/27/14 5:10pm

Logo outdated

Sorry, I can't upload the new logo myself. But if it helps I can give you the new logo file (think I have got 1024x1024) so that someone else can upload it. OliverRM (talk) 19:47, 26 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Location

the article mentions that the operations for Snapchat are located in Pacific Palisades, CA, however, Snapchat owns a building on the Venice Beach walk, Venice Beach being not very close to Pacific Palisades and definitely not considered such. The Snapchat building is recognizable by not only the Snapchat ghost logo posted on the outside of the house converted to office space, but curiously enough, is surrounded by cameras on all angles of the building, signs posted that say they are being videotapped, and a security guard walking the perimeter. During a recent hit & run on the Venice Beach walk, it was Snapchat's security cameras that captured video evidence of that hit & run in progress from various angles. 173.60.116.143 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 06:59, 5 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Citation needed for claim that emulator bypasses restrictions

furthermore, running the Snapchat application in an emulator will bypass all restrictions.[citation needed]

Citation needed? Naturally an emulator allows unrestricted screenshots because they can be done outside the emulated environment and thus completely outside Snapchat's control. Blargg (talk) 22:34, 6 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected edit request on 9 June 2014

In the History section, please change "Snapchat first launched in July 2011 under the name Picaboo in Spiegel's father's living room, though the application was later renamed and relaunched under the name Snapchat." to "Snapchat first launched in July 2011 under the name Picaboo in Spiegel's father's living room, though the application was later renamed and relaunched under the name Snapchat after the founders were contacted by Kevin McCurdy, Co-Founder/CEO of Picaboo Corporation." Kevinmccurdy (talk) 13:24, 9 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: as you have not cited reliable sources to back up your request, without which no information should be added to any article. - Arjayay (talk) 14:34, 9 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the way you handled this Arjayay :-) --Soulparadox (talk) 12:31, 29 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Update reference to selfie

The line in Demographics, "Snapchat is often used to send self-portraits, called "selfies,"" should be changed to "Snapchat is often used to send selfies" since "selfie" is now an accepted word in the US english lexicon with its own wiki page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.174.27.223 (talk) 22:08, 5 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please change... "One of the primary ways Snapchat users keep photos is through taking a snapshot. A screenshot is when the user makes their own copy of the photo by taking a photo of their screen while the snap is showing."

to... "One of the primary ways Snapchat users keep photos is through taking a screenshot. A screenshot is when the user makes their own copy of the photo by taking a photo of their screen while the snap is showing."

Because the section is on screenshots and the wording is incorrect. 2607:6500:1:1:F831:3325:BF97:D56E (talk) 00:19, 6 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

iPhone centric

Many sections of this article are written as if the app is only available for iPhone. For example the section on screenshots talks about iOs apps, a camera roll, etc as if there is only one kind of phone in this universe. I detest that kind of closed mindedness and it doesn't belong on wikipedia. PizzaMan (♨♨) 00:55, 23 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Table for Emoji Meanings

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help in adding this table as a subcategory of Features, titled "Emoji Meaning." I am not able to add the Table because of the fact that the Unicode Emojis are tripping a filter from Wikipedia with my new account. Thank you!

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format. Datbubblegumdoe[talkcontribs] 01:29, 29 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merger

I propose to merge the article Geofilters to this article, since "Geofilters" are a feature of Snapchat. LoudLizard (📞 | contribs | ) 18:20, 7 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed on not merging that page (Geo-blocking, to which Geofilters redirects) into this article, but perhaps the term “Geofilters” should redirect here instead? I do think Geo-blocking as a concept should be merged with Regional lockout, by the way. —Born2bgratis 23:28, 14 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Massive IP edits

I have concerns about these edits; they sprang up out of nowhere and are only editing this article. Can we check for a COI? ViperSnake151  Talk  21:14, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Arbitration clause

@Legaleagle00: I removed the section on the arbitration clause as a violation of WP:NPOV, WP:UNDUE, and WP:BALASPS. Also, it is not encyclopedic to place in every business's article whether or not it has an arbitration clause in its consumer contracts. In general, unless the clause has itself received significant coverage (compare General Mills#Change to legal terms), it should not get a special mention in the article. There was a previous RFC on Dollar Shave Club's arbitration clause which is very informative. RJaguar3 | u | t 07:42, 22 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

How about a section on deaths, injuries, and lawsuits, here's a start: [1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.10.211.236 (talk) 13:19, 3 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps more images

It doesn't seem that a lot of additional text is going to be added to this article, but perhaps some images that don't violate copyright of things such as the stickers and lens graphics, and pictures of the three co-founders could be added at some point. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.53.126.77 (talk) 06:21, 7 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

rewrite needed

This article is written from the viewpoint of business development and fans. I couldn't find points to illustrate the notability, except for the buzz it creates. While it is enough for wiki notability, it is not informative. The history parts are microscopically detailed and need an objective merciless edit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Setreset (talkcontribs) 04:33, 14 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
