Francesco Guidolin

Please don't call me a vandal. All information I have inputted is fact and most of it is sourced or linked to sourced Wikipedia material. Guidolin's managerial statistics is based on www.soccerbase.com

Darren Tilley

Hello sorry for not referencing my new edits, I just added statistics to Tilley's career based on the information found on this website www.soccerdatabase.eu. shotgun pete, talk. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shotgun pete (talkcontribs) 23:11, 3 November 2014‎ (UTC)[reply]

I have cited 4 sources for the Pepe edit. Can you make sure it is not removed? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jayeshrchinchole (talkcontribs) 00:53, 1 February 2015‎ (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jayeshrchinchole (talkcontribs) 00:53, 1 February 2015‎ (UTC)[reply]

Shaun Maloney

Hi. Maloney actually played 81 games for Wigan Athletic and 29 for Aston Villa. ("Shaun Maloney". US Soccerway. April 4, 2015. Retrieved April 4, 2015.) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Saint Ètienne 920 (talkcontribs) 22:49, 4 April 2015‎ (UTC)[reply]

Hi MTW

Thank you for you reversion of my edit, I wasn't sure if apps and goals were to be included, I take it from you reverting it, they are not, this will now enable me to make more appropriate edits

Thank You for your edit at Olivier Giroud, your input is crucial to helping build Wikipedia! Cheers :) TeaLover1996 (talk) 04:51,

Philippe Coutinho

Hi Mattythewhite I'm new to editing wikipedia articles and all I really wanted to do was change the picture used in the article. I have found a few other pictures that would be more accurate for this footballer Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shivgattu1202 (talkcontribs) 16:11, 24 July 2015‎ (UTC)[reply]

Carl Pentney

Hi! Thank you for keeping an eye on the statistics and my edits. The Carl Pentney stats are retrieved from the match reports at Maidenhead United's Pitch Hero website, apart from the Bath City match on 18 August 2015, which was covered by Bath Chronicle.

Roy Carroll edit

Hi. I am only a very occasional contributor and have no idea how this process works. You removed my edit saying there was "no reliable source". I'm not sure why you think a source is necessary ; the season statistics speak for themselves, and are available for all to see on the 2007-8 season page for Derby - 14 games after Carroll began playing, during which he let in 38 goals, and the club set a new Premiership record for the lowest ever points total. If you need a cross-reference as a "reliable source" it would be this Wiki page : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007%E2%80%9308_Derby_County_F.C._season . I don't know how to use that in a way which is acceptable to you. BOB

Hi Matty - I was reverting a previous change that had removed a couple of words from an already cited quote that meant the quote was no longer accurate annd made no sense. The addition was part of the article cited for the entire sentence and as such would be covered by that citation. I'd normally have changed this under my own username (User:AndrewMcQ) but I've mislaid my password after a longish absence from editting. Would you revert or should I?

Juan Hohberg World Cup 1954

I edit about the game of Uruguay vs Hungary in the article about the Golden Team, here you have the source of the hearth attack of Juan Hohberg in spanish http://www.kaisermagazine.com/retroblog/juan-hohberg-el-charrua-que-esquivo-a-la-muerte/

I've added a link to prove that the club have turned full time and highlighted quote from that article from the chairman below:

"Hunter went on “Going to a day time training programme three days a week, is tantamount to turning Meadow Park and Boreham Wood into a full time football club for the first time in our history.."

Response

Hello, you sent me a message yesterday regarding putting capital letters on common nouns and having the same link in the info boxes. I'd just like to offer an explanation and if it satisfies you then great and if not then i'll listen to your advice. Regarding the capital letters, I have only been doing this in info boxes because the word promoted or relegated is in brackets and is not in a sentence. If it were I would not be putting a capital letter at the beginning of the words. I also think the info box looks more visually aesthetic with capital lettered words, otherwise i find the word (promoted or relegated) looks out of place as generally every other word in the info box has a capital letter. Secondly, regarding having the same link, I have only been doing this because clubs that are promoted and relegated obviously change league and thus the league and last season league link are different. In these cases there are two links. The problem I have is there is then a lack of consistency with clubs that stay in the same league as they only have one link, because as you say duplication is occurring. Thus personally I think it is better to have two links on all, rather than one link on some and two on other or one link on all and then having some league links you can't access.

Kind regards

I put an external link to prove his height, his soccerway profile. (Rhinen)

Templates

Eduardo Berizzo again (maybe this time an answer will be provided), are his O'Higgins champion templates overlinking or not? Now, I found out this in Nicolae Stanciu (footballer, born 1993)... templates for season top scorer?! Seriously Matty, where's the limit?

Attentively --Be Quiet AL (talk) 17:29, 1 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'd support the champion templates being deleted and the top scorer navbox being removed. I don't believe there is consensus for either to exist. Mattythewhite (talk) 10:20, 2 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Michael Duberry

I added an honours section to reflect the three trophies he has won, this is entirely consistent with many professional footballer's pages. How can it require citation if the information is written above?Statto74 (talk) 17:45, 4 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Because it isn't sourced...? Mattythewhite (talk) 17:53, 4 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Its from his own page:

"He won the League Cup, the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup and the European Super Cup with Chelsea, all in 1998" Statto74 (talk) 17:57, 4 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

But where is the WP:RS? Mattythewhite (talk) 18:06, 4 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The article 2015–16 York City F.C. season you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needing to be addressed. If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass; otherwise it may fail. See Talk:2015–16 York City F.C. season for things which need to be addressed. Mark warbuton

Mark warbuton done his youth career at Leicester city so get your facts right go and email him and see what he says Jollyboyjohnny (talk) 18:58, 5 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I know this is a wild, radical idea: but maybe you could provide a reliable source to verify your additions? Mattythewhite (talk) 22:09, 5 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I know this might be the real answer go and check the Rangers page. I know your a Celtic supporter and I'm a Rangers supporter. I would like to ensure you that I'm right Mark warbuton done his youth career at Leicester city — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jollyboyjohnny (talkcontribs) 23:09, 5 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

MARK WARBURTON was appointed the fifteenth manager of Rangers Football Club on June 15, 2015.

A youth player at Leicester City in the late 1970s, he played under iconic former Ibrox boss Jock Wallace before moving on to play non-league football with Enfield and Boreham Wood.

This was off the Rangers page so get your facts right

That's the first time I've ever been accused of being a Celtic fan, so that's... um... interesting. But I refer to you my above comment, re citing sources. Mattythewhite (talk) 23:15, 5 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Oh so now you believe me that he never had his youth career at Celtic and mate im sorry but I thought you were for a minute because why do you think Rangers have the song " Warbuton is Magic he could of said in England be he said no" he has never left England in his playing career until he became manager Rangers Jollyboyjohhny 12:31 6th August — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jollyboyjohnny (talkcontribs) 23:32, 5 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

concerning your message to me.

Hi Matty, I apologise for the editing done on Henrik Larsson's wiki page. We have had two new babies in the family and a friend thought it was funny to play them off against each other. I promise to keep him away from my laptop. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.46.78.105 (talk) 00:02, 7 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Soccerway is a reliable source, but Transfermarkt is not?

What are your standards for a reliable source in soccer stats? I mean I get it if you tell us to only stick to the stats published by an official football club or organization. But I don't get how citing Soccerway is OK, while citing Transfermarkt is not. Bloomberg800 (talk) 18:14, 7 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Transfermarkt is user-edited, so anyone can sign up and amend their information, which is generally unacceptable per WP:UGC. Mattythewhite (talk) 18:29, 7 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Page move...

...if you can assist, I was not able to do it. Article is Álvarinho, and the reasoning to perform the move is the following: his REAL first name carries an accent, indeed, but the short form ("Little Álvaro" in Portuguese) does not; only thing needed is to remove the accent, simple as that :)

Thanks in advance, nice teamwork --Be Quiet AL (talk) 18:10, 9 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

2016–17 York City F.C. season

Hello Matty, do you intend to expand 2016–17 York City F.C. season to pass WP:GNG or should be it sent to PROD/AfD as York City (sadly) are no longer in the Football League? What to do? Thanks, JMHamo (talk) 13:35, 10 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, I wasn't intending on working on this season's article out of sheer frustration and disenfranchisement with the club, regardless of the recent spate of deletions of Conference season articles. I wouldn't personally advocate deletion, but neither can I guarantee that I'll work on it... Mattythewhite (talk) 16:26, 10 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Luke simpson

You are giving incorrect information have a look at York City FC link it says Luke Simpson is 6ft 2 not 5ft 10. Please stop damaging Simpsons appearance and stop leaving it blank for the games he played at Nantwich Town and find sufficient evidence of how many games played as again it is damaging for Simpson career. XLManny0 (talk) 08:04, 11 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The Nantwich appearances you are adding are unsourced. It is you who needs to "find sufficient evidence of how many games played", as per WP:BURDEN. Mattythewhite (talk) 13:29, 11 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Jonathan Calleri

Why do I need a reliable source to prove that Jonathan Calleri now part of West Ham? The rest of the team does not link to reliable sources, including the other 6-7 new players.
