Randell "Kydd" Jones is an American hiphop/R&B artist from Austin, Texas, currently based in Atlanta, Georgia.[1][2][3][4]

Career

He was originally nicknamed "Kidd" by his older brother Tank Washington for being the younger kid in their group called Southern Boys which performed at local talent shows; after being signed to an independent record label in his early teenage years, he joined another group called Impac and started performing at clubs and shows at the age of 15.[5][6] In 2013, Jones performed at Fun Fun Fun Fest and the StubHub Live Showcase at SXSW.[7][8] Kydd performed at NXNE and The Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival as well as Red Bull Sound Select shows with Danny Brown & Yung Lean in 2014 while also producing for Kirko Bangz on Progression V: Young Texas Playa.[9][10][11][12][13] During 2015, he performed alongside Nicki Minaj and Justin Bieber for the Billboard Hot 100 Fest at Nikon Theater.[14][15] After being personally picked by Chuck D to open for The Hip Hop Gods Tour in Los Angeles at The Novo (formerly Club Nokia) during 2012, Kydd opened for The Art Of Rap Fest with Public Enemy, Ice-T, Naughty By Nature, Mobb Deep & EPMD at the Lakewood Amphitheatre in Atlanta during 2016.[16][17][18] He released "Sounds In My Head 2: The Righteous Edition" later that year with features from Yelawolf, Skyzoo, Pac Div, A.Dd+, GLC, Cory Kendrix, Max Frost & Tank Washington."Sounds In My Head 2: The Righteous Edition". iTunes.
