"Paradinha"
Song

"Paradinha" is a song by Brazilian singer Anitta. It was released on May 31, 2017 by Warner Music.[1] Written by Anitta herself, Umberto Tavares and Jefferson Junior, it is expected to be included on her upcoming fourth studio album. It is the first single in Spanish by Anitta after the version in Spanish for "Sim ou Não" featuring Maluma.[2] It is a dancehall song with Latin sub-genres from the drum to the spec of an electronic flute.[1][3] "Paradinha" received positive reviews from specialized critics, being classified as "simple, addictive and unpretentious." For Anderson Neves, of the original Tune portal, the song was not due to international artists and compared it to the potential of success of Luis Fonsi's Despacito and Shakira's "Me Enamoré". Other critics also reckoned that with the song, Anitta followed the same booklet as Shakira and Enrique Iglesias by betting on Spanish to win the 33 million people who speak the language in the United States, thus setting the stage for launching into English in the future.

Background and release

On September 9, 2014 Anitta took its first step towards the public outside Brazil by launching a Spanish version of "Zen" directly in Latin America, bringing the special participation of the Spanish singer Rasel and a new music video. In 2015 the singer began planning for a future international career, analyzing the direction of the music industry and comes to the conclusion that the best way to win a share of the foreign audience would be to enter the Latin market. In November he meets Colombian J Balvin for Snapchat and closes a partnership with him for the remix of the track "Ginza", launched on January 29, 2016 in Brazil to promote the singer in the country and accustom his fans with the Castilian language, which She intended to adopt in the next work.[1]

In May Anitta records an English version of "Bang" especially for Midem - world-wide gathering of entrepreneurs of the music industry - although the band has not been used for any purpose after. On July 28, he released "Sim ou Não" which featured the participation of Colombian Maluma, focusing on reggaeton, as well as a second Spanish version titled "Sí o No". From initial estrangement compared to his previous works, The band gave international visibility to the singer, who reached a niche audience in Latin America, scoring fifteen in Chile, thirteen in Mexico, and entering a good position in Brazil and Portugal.

In 2017 Anitta collaborated with Australian rapper Iggy Azalea on the track "Switch" for her second studio album Digital Distortion, Anitta was in New York to record the single along with music video with Azalea, and with passage took advantage and recorded "Paradinha" secretly.[1] By social networks Anitta had told her that she was preparing a surprise for her fans from all over Latin America, who would be releasing an all-Spanish single for her upcoming fourth studio album, and on May 31, 2017 was released along with the music video.[3]

Musical structure and lyrics

"Paradinha" mixes two of the top musical genres that made up hit international charts this year, dancehall and tropical house - popularized in songs such as "Sorry" by Justin Bieber, "Shape of You" by Ed Sheeran, and "Work" By Rihanna. The song also features elements of reggaeton and pop music. Among the instruments used in his production are the Jamaican drum and the electronic flute. The track was composed by Anitta in partnership with Umberto Tavares and Jefferson Junior, who had already worked with her on most of the previous singles. Originally, the song was written in Portuguese and later translated with the help of instructors specialized in Spanish, adapting the stanzas and rhymes to the language. The singer explained that the term "Paradinha" is a reference to the dance movement of the "Quadrado", where the whole body for the choreographic and only the hip performs the step in four paused movements.

The main theme of the track is the seduction game in which the main character plays on the partner with his dance ("I want to see you go crazy / I want to tease you, you will see that / When I want something, I can do it") , Stating also that it has the reins of the situation and reinforcing and the feminine power in the stanzas of the last part ("I am not holy / I have attitude, yes / I am not easy").[4]

Recording and promotion

The recordings occurred in a very short time in her recording studio in New York City, as Anitta wanted to release the single by surprise, although portions of the song were leaked two days before its official release.[5] For the release in Mexico, the singer participated on Thursday in the program "Tu night", by the Mexican comedian and presenter Gabo Ramos, and sang live with him "Sim ou Não" in the Portuguese version. Later she was on the show "Función", Excélsior Televisión, of Mexico, to promote the song "Paradinha".[1] Risking a "portunhol", the singer told the presenter of the attraction where he started the idea of betting on the international career singing Spanish.[6] The Brazilian version of Rolling Stone said the song represents another step in the international career of Anitta after releasing songs with Colombian singer Maluma and Australian rapper Iggy Azalea.[7] On June 6, "Paradinha" was presented for the first time on television during the program Música Boa Vivo, presented by Anitta herself, in which she included the plus size dancer Thais Carla, former stage assistant of the Legendários program. On June 10 he performs at Caldeirão do Hulk.
