Edit war
Hi there, I'm requesting mediation at Ahmed Zaoui. Another editor User:Armon and I are the only active contributors to the page, and I've only been editing it for a month or so. I'm disturbed by the excessive reverting without talk by Armon, deleting not only the contested edits, but any change since the last version he edited. I quick look through his contributions shows that this certainly isn't the first time he's engaged in this behaviour. I've only contributed to the page what I thought was uncontested or highly verifiable. In short, his behaviour is making me feel uncivil, and I'm about to quit wikipedia if nothing is done about his behaviour, because it's just plain destructive. Tell me to get back to work! 22:03, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
- I'm willing to take a look. Did you already put something on MedCabal concerning this? --- Deville (Talk) 23:05, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
- Ok, that was a silly question, I should have checked first. I'll drop some messages on talk pages now and see if we can't get the ball rolling on this issue. --- Deville (Talk) 23:10, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks. I'll admit that I'm certainly not without fault here either. But we do need a cool head to help us sort out our disputes. Tell me to get back to work! 23:18, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
- Sounds good. I'll wait and see if Armon is willing to participate, since this is so informal. My hope is I can help you guys find some common ground so there's no need to go to an RfC. --- Deville (Talk) 23:23, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
- The situation at Ahmed Zaoui remains unresolved. I left to maintain my sanity, but I don't see that you've made any comments on the matter. Mostlyharmless
Re: Irvine Romaine
Hey, no worries about Irvine Romaine. It was easy to correct.
However, isn't it the case that all the Bermudian player infoboxes now say "Updated: 22 August 2006" but the stats don't include the ODI of 21 August? Unfortunately I haven't got time to fix that now.
Stephen Turner (Talk) 09:15, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
- Hi Stephen, I believe you're correct and again the fault is mine. I updated the stats on 22 August implicitly assuming that I'd include the ODI of 21 August, but I think that cricinfo.com hadn't included the latest ODI in some of the players' stats...it was too soon. I should have double-checked this. Anyway, I've updated the list page to be current, and I'll go through and fix the player pages as well when I get a chance. --- Deville (Talk) 12:13, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

Comair Flight 5191 Question
You left a rather threating message, accusing me of vandalism on this article. My response:
"I Linked the "Albert B. Chandler" in "Albert B. Chandler Medical Center" to the entry for Albert B. "Happy" Chandler. I fail to see how this is vandalism. Please explain. It seems natural that someone who isn't from Kebtucky would wonder who "Albert B. Chandler" was. This was not at all an unreasonable addition."
I'd like to understand why you did this.
Thanks

Re: Orlando, Florida
We have noticed that you had our IP address blocked. It is the address for the ISP for CFI. CFI is one of the largest privately held entities in the South East United States. CFI owns Several resorts, several brand name hotels, restaurants and several other business across the United States. It is also the single largest non-Disney purchaser of Walt Disney World tickets in the world as well and many other central Florida attractions and invests several millions of dollars annually into the development of Central Florida and inparticular Orlando, Florida. Please note that in blocking this address, you are blocking over 20,000+ simultaneous potential Wikipedia users (staff, customers and guests from across the country) from access to the editing capabilities of Wikipedia. Many users of Wikipedia have made very useful contributions to articles from our ip address.
CFI is also the parent company for numerous internet entities including the Orlando Area Guide. It is an informational website with the intent to be the most complete resource/reporitory for all Central Florida information including an Orlando wiki and numerous web 2.0 products. As manager of www.OrlandoAreaGuide.com I understand the necessity for maintaining a Spam free enviroment on Wikis and with respect to recent events...I apologise on behalf of some of the overly zealous members of my team. However, we do believe that as an integral part of Central Florida's life we do deserve some mention on a page dedicated to Orlando. OrlandoAreaGuide.com is the orlando repository that we wish to have on the Orlando, Florida page.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Geniusboy (talk • contribs)
Long-Overdue RfA Thanks from Alphachimp
Thanks for your support in my not-so-recent RfA, which was successful with a an overwhelmingly flattering and deeply humbling total of 138/2/2 (putting me #10 on the RfA WP:100). I guess infinite monkey theorem has been officially proven. Chimps really can get somewhere on Wikipedia.
With new buttons come great responsibility, and I'll try my best to live up to your expectations. If you need assistance with something, don't hesitate to swing by my talk page or email me (trust me, I do respond :)). The same goes for any complaints or comments in regard to my administrative actions. Remember, I'm here for you. Relisted AfD you closed
I want to tell you that I relist a AfD that you closed (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Aman Verjee) because a significant amount of votes in that AfD were from confirmed sockpuppets. I hope you don't mind, many thanks. --WinHunter (talk) 13:06, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
Ferret legging
What criteria did you use for keeping Ferret legging in its AfD? The entire discussion seemed to hinge on whether it was a hoax or not, as did your closing comment. But there was little or no analysis of whether it was notable enough for Wikipedia. I don't doubt that this man put ferrets in his pants 20 years ago and that it got written about in a book and a magazine article, but is that really enough to you to justify a Wikipedia article? wikipediatrix 15:01, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
You forgot to put the closing template {{subst:ab}} underneath the AfD, so it enclosed all the others beneath it too! See closing AfD. Tyrenius 05:19, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

George Daniel
Hi. I'm attacking the [[Category:Wikipedia articles with topics of unclear importance]] and have stumbled onto the George Daniel article. You were the closing admin on the AfD debate but forgot to complete it. The AfD tag is still there on the article. By the way, is it ok for me to relist this? I mean the debate was pretty much empty and the sole argument in favour is extremely weak. Thanks. Pascal.Tesson 18:06, 7 September 2006 (UTC) Sure. Thanks for the advice. Hope I remember in a week! Talk page revert
You're very welcome, Gwernol 18:53, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
I have noticed when you closed the above AfD, you did not remove the category template, "REMOVE THIS TEMPLATE WHEN CLOSING THIS AfD". By deleting this when closing it pulls the discussion out of the category. I have deleted it from this discussion, but if you could review any other closures you have done recently and remove the tag from them it would be greatly appreicated. Thanks. --Gay Cdn (talk) (email) (Contr.) 14:15, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
- This is a fairly recent change. The official policy is at WP:AFDC. In regards to why it is categoried after closure, it should not be. I
have been going through the listing in each of the categories CAT:AFD and removing the tag from pages that are closed and adding the approriate category code for those in the uncatagorised group. I came across the new categories after they had been implemented. I did not notice anything about the discussion as it was happening. I took it upon myself to start cleaning up things. Thanks.--Gay Cdn (talk) (email) (Contr.) 18:48, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
- I think I get the plot now. As I said on your talk page, I posed some questions on WT:AFDC since I left that message. Anyway, I'll go through all my old closures and see if I missed any. Thanks again! -- Deville (Talk) 18:52, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

TCU Library Scandal
If you'll excuse me, the article that you've just deleted DID have encyclopedic value. It was an accurate representation of the sequence of events that is relevant to anybody who might be searching for information about the actual events, which were published. It has historical value because it's affected University policy, is a "current event" as it documents the facts behind ongoing legal preceedings, and is of interest to students of this University, readers of the media in which it is published, as well as anyone else who may wish to know about a rather large scandal and coverup that may be present in the school they attend, the school they are considering attending, or a school that they wish to know more about. I request reinstatement of the article. It can be edited to seem less like an "invasion of privacy" (although it wasn't). You may say it's "NOR", however it is based on fact - and it has been published in the Star-Telegram. A link would be provided if the archives for that paper were free online, but they're not.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Anon76109 (talk • contribs)

A belated thanks for this one. Many of the admins would have decided to retain it on the basis of votes. Mayilattam is a very obscure art form and even if you live in Kerala, chances aren't very good that you are familiar with it (I think I have seen it twice in twenty odd years). Apart from me, there was only one vote from a person in Kerala and he chose to delete. We did try to get others from this part of the world to comment but they didn't, probably because they weren't sure themselves. Good decision to give more weight to the complete lack of evidence than to the votes of editors. Tintin (talk) 08:42, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

- Thanks, Deville, for modifying your criticism at User talk:SouthieFL, though I think you should still be careful here. Presumably you are referring to SouthieFL deleting the section about alleged sockpuppetry (and also sometimes damaging formatting and/or deleting the references, etc. in the process; presumably these are newbie mistakes, not deliberate vandalism). This isn't adding nonsense (though perhaps in claiming this there is some older edit you have in mind that I missed). Whether it is vandalism is debatable. As you can see at the talk page of the article, there is debate about whether the section should be included. I personally think it probably should, but even so I have deleted the section at times, when I've been frustrated by a variety of incorrect, misleading and unencylopedic edits that this section seems to attract. Surely in a biography of a living person it is better to have no version of this section than a bad one. Regardless, as we have both recommended, SouthieFL should explain what s/he is doing in edit summaries and/or on Talk.Crust 14:37, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

Deletion of Boy in the Bubble Sketch Comedy
I noticed that you deleted my article for All Sorts of Trouble for the Boy in the Bubble Sketch Comedy.
While I disagree with your determination that there is no evidence provided to prove that the article meets any Notability requirements (in the discussion, I feel that I gave a fairly competent demonstration that the article meets the Wikipedia:Notability (comedy) requirement for "Has become the most prominent representative of a notable style or the local scene of a city"-- as evidenced by the group's top ranking the Bloomington Reader's Poll that was cited in the article), I'm sure that you had your reasons for deletion.
However, if you won't consider reevaluating and possibly restoring the article on these grounds, I was wondering if you would mind restoring the article temporarily, so that I can move the wiki-coded information to another website, in something along the lines of a Content Review.
