Please stop creating constituency articles
I'm in the process of creating all 500-odd missing ones for the 2005 election news coverage, and the lists of names that you are working from are both wrong and cause conflicts with other projects, such as the Canadian constituency project. See User talk:80N#Please_stop_creating_constituency_articles for a full explanation. Uncle G 13:38, 2005 Apr 26 (UTC)
Districts of Sheffield
Hi! I have attempted to answer your question at Talk:Districts of Sheffield. It is a little long and rambling but I hope that the answer that you are looking for is in there somewhere. JeremyA 9 July 2005 04:26 (UTC)
- Just to let you know that I have replied to your most recent comment at Talk:Districts_of_Sheffield. Thanks, JeremyA (talk) 01:30, 31 July 2005 (UTC)
Kek Lok Si, Air Itam
I actually wasnt sure about the pictures. I can't access them now through the article or by searching for the direct image on wikipedia. I just thought one of them looked kind of similar to one I found on google. I could be wrong though. --ScottyBoy900Q 14:52, 3 August 2005 (UTC)

Intellectual Dishonesty
Hi. Thanks for the cleanup assignment. It's kind of a mess. I'm thinking of nominating it for deletion. It's a rather generic, not to say loaded, term that may not be suitable as an article, kind of like an article on Bad Manners. In any case, it's still just a stub at this point. Think I should try to salvage it? — J M Rice 06:34, 7 September 2005 (UTC)
Cleanup Taskforce
Hello, Andreww- thanks for letting me know about the item on my desk. I'll see what I can do in the next few days. Flcelloguy | A note? | Desk | WS 19:15, 24 September 2005 (UTC)
Re: Cleanup taskforce
Hi Andreww. Fortunately I didn't have to go into the wikibreak at the end. Thanks for letting me know about the new item, I'll get around it soon. -- Rune Welsh ταλκ 17:44, 25 September 2005 (UTC)
Geology of Zanskar
Dear Andrew(w), thank you for your comments and for taking care of the article Geology of the Himalaya. The reason why I haven't tagged the images yet, is because I haven't been able to find a tag or licensing term that, in my opinion, really applies to these illustrations. Basically these images are released to the public for free (as in beer) (re)use or modification. The only quirk, maybe, is that both I and the original author of the paleogeographic reconstructions (see notice on [1])insist that reference is being made to their original web-site or publication(s). These is not merely for self glorifying purposes but also because, as it should be for any scientific illustrations or articles, it is essential to know from what original sources these where based upon. This "tracability" should not get lost and this is also the reason why there are so many references cited in the "Geology of the Himalaya" Wikipedia article and illustations.
Just so that you know for this lisencing issue, all images have been redrawn and modified by me.
Any suggestions are welcome on how to deal with these images so as to license them in a way that both meets the requirements of Wikimedia and scientific integrity.
I do appreciate your suggestion that this could be a featured article. However, you have to know that even if the article says "Geology of the Himalaya", the content itself mostly focuses on the Geology of NW Indian Himalya. A lot more could be said to cover the geology of the entire Himalayan mountain belt and thus make it truly "encyclopedic". Moumine 20:01, 29 September 2005 (UTC)
Vandalism at Edict of Nantes
The first paragraph was deleted and a juvenile graffito added 14:16, 2 October 2005, User:142.59.104.79, an anonymous passer-by. In erasing the graffiti, the next editor (14:22, 2 October 2005, User:156.143.138.178, another anonymous passer-by) did not revert the page, and the opening paragraph remained lost. Then, a "cleanup tag' was applied 04:49, 4 October 2005 by User:Andreww and a "Wikify tag" followed, 17:27, 4 October 2005, added by User:Acjelen. I have restored the original version, but some editorial care needs to be exercised before applying those tags, which have been so trashed by their mis-usage. --Wetman 05:36, 5 October 2005 (UTC).
WP:CP
Hi, you've reported copyright infringements to WP:CP in the last week, a new measure was recently passed to allow the speedy deltion of new pages that are cut and paste copyvios. Please follow these instructions if you come across this type of copyvio. Thanks. --nixie 00:07, 6 October 2005 (UTC)
Blatant copyright infringements may now be "speedied"
If an article and all its revisions are unquestionably copied from the website of a commercial content provider and there is no assertion of permission, ownership or fair use and none seems likely, and the article is less than 48 hours old, it may be speedily deleted. See CSD A8 for full conditions. After notifying the uploading editor by using wording similar to:
Blank the page and replace the text with
to the article in question, leaving the content visible. An administrator will examine the article and decide whether to speedily delete it or not. |
Cleanup job done
Hi Andreww - I've cleaned up the article on Captain George Shelvocke that you left on my desk, but as it's the first time I've had anything on the desk I'm not sure if I've succeeded in removing it from everywhere I need to, lists of things to be cleaned up and so on. Is there a way I can check that? Thanks in advance if you could help me out with that. C i d 6 October 2005 16:51 (UTC)

Prekmurska gibanica
I have expanded the article somewhat. It's still limited to a basic definition though, not much more is possible on an article about food. A recipe is best for wikibooks, and a link has been provided to that page. In the future would it be possible to assign me more science related articles? I understand that I signed up for "Anything", but have more experience with the scientific world (esp. Biology etc.). I have edited the page and relisted myself under the appropriate sections. Thank You. P.S. Good job on the earthquake report. Dariusthegreat88 21:20, 19 October 2005 (UTC)
- Hi, that looks fine - I have closed the article. You should feel free to pick up any articles you think look intresting from the "unassigned" section of the taskforce page. Articles only get dumped on desks if they have been hanging around for too long! At present I'm not looking after this job (see the Meta refresh task) but will try to remember your request if I do this again. In any case you should always feel free to move tasks from your desk to any other taskforce members desk. Cheers, Andreww 21:12, 19 October 2005 (UTC) (By the way, it's good form to sign your comments to talk pages with four tildas (~~~~).

Bduke
Thanks for your comments. What is your interest in computational chemistry and what is your interest in Sheffield - I was born there, but live in Australia now. Bduke 01:32, 1 November 2005 (UTC)
- Small world - I was also born in Sheffield and I now work in Australia. I use methods from computational chemistry in my research but I'm not going to tell you exactly what that is (because the world realy is far too small). Andreww 08:34, 1 November 2005 (UTC)
World War
Thanks for your comment! I didn't actually intend to go that far, though. I was merging content from an overlapping article, then decided that the exising content of World War was basically crap and decided to be bold and redo the whole thing... -- ChrisO 22:49, 6 November 2005 (UTC)
Wikimedia UK
You have expressed an interest in Wikimedia UK. Just to let you know I've posted a draft Memorandum of Association and Articles of Association of the proposed "Wikimedia UK" charitable company on Wikimedia UK/Memorandum of Association and Wikimedia UK/Articles of Association. It is proposed that these will receive initial approval by interested parties at a meeting on 27 November. I will put together a brief agenda for the more formal aspects of that meeting soon. Memo and Arts of Association are a company's constitution, and need to be agreed before the company is formed (though they can be changed at a later date). Please feel free to comment on the relevant talk pages (I'd rather the proposed drafts are left unedited so that it is easy to see what is going on) - particularly if there is something there that you would disagree with at the meeting, details of which can be found on the Wikimedia UK page on Wikimedia Meta-Wiki. Kind regards, jguk 19:17, 15 November 2005 (UTC)
Another computational chemist?
Hello! I just wanted to stop by and say a word of greetings! Nice to meet another computational chemist. Would you be able to help expand the article on coupled cluster and vibronic coupling? --HappyCamper 00:44, 3 January 2006 (UTC)
This is just a reminder that the Birmingham meetup of UK Wikipedians that you have expressed an interst in is happening tomorrow. Sorry for the short notice. Thryduulf 15:23, 20 January 2006 (UTC)
Grid computing
Hi Andrew, nice to see others participating in the Grid Computing revision, doing it on my own would have somehow been against the Wikipedia ethos. Nice lead suggestion, though I would say it follows the bias (which i share) toward multi organisation Grids over intragrids or enterprise Grids. That said I hadn't actually started putting in new text yet so I am hardly complaining :). I look forward to collaborating on this, I should have a fair bit of time the next 4 days so will take a stab at some of the other sections. Cheers! ora 23:32, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

Merging Manchester Councillors
Please stop merging Manchester councillors' entries onto the wards they represent. These councillors are elected representatives on a large metropolitan council and are notable. See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Manchester councillors for more information. I am reverting the mergers that you made without allowing people to discuss them. Thegraham 09:09, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
