IMFACT (Korean임팩트; A mixture of I'm Fact and Impact) is a South Korean boy band formed by Star Empire Entertainment in 2016. The group has released two mini albums "LOLLIPOP (January 27, 2016)" and "Revolt (November 11, 2016)". The group has then been making monthly comeback single's for their "IMFACTORY" Project. Since debut, IMFACT has actively participated in the composition and lyrics for their music.

History

Pre-debut

Sang was spotted by Star Empire Entertainment, when he was three years old.[1]

Prior to debut, Jian worked as a backup dancer for B1A4 and Juniel. Jeup learned Taekwondo and had even been a member of the national team when he was in highschool. Before training under Star Empire Entertainment, Taeho had trained under several other labels such as MBK Entertainment and Happy Face Entertainment.[2]

2016: Debut with Lollipop and Revolt

Imfact released their debut single album Lollipop on January 27, 2016. The single contains four tracks with the title track being Lollipop, and it was produced by the members.[3] The group officially debuted, on stage, on January 28 on the music program M Countdown.[4] Imfact held their first fanmeeting on June 19.[5]

On August 13, they held a live broadcast on Naver V App to celebrate their 200th day since debut and announced their fanclub name IF.[6]

On October 21, it was reported that Imfact will be making a comeback on the second week of November.[7] On October 31, Imfact dropped a comeback trailer and a teaser image. Their second single album Revolt will be released on November 11.[8] On November 11, they came back with the single album Revolt with the title track "F,S,G Feel so Good".[9]

2017: IMFACTORY

On January 9, their agency Star Empire revealed more details about the group’s 2017 project, “IMFACTORY,” which kicked off with a launching event on January 7. This project will consist of monthly releases, mini fan meetings, as well as mini concerts. In line with the title “IMFACTORY,” the group plans to churn out “impactful and sincere music.”

At the launching event, the group unveiled the title of their first monthly release, “You’re Not Here”. “It’s a song that was made when we were still trainees, and we believe it will show another completely side to IMFACT,” they explained. “You’re Not Here” is about the break of a guy and a girl and how he struggles missing her. He tries to get drunk and dance with other girls but still can't get over the fact that she is gone. This track was released January 25 at 12 a.m. KST.[10]

The second IMFACTORY Project song, “Please Be My My First Love” is a medium tempo track written by the members of IMFACT, and it portrays the feelings of someone confessing to their beloved. The members are seen searching Osaka to find messages coming from a secret admirer. The song was released February 27 at 12 a.m. KST.[11]

"Tension Up" the third IMFACTORY Project song is about wanting to have fun and get crazy for the night. The song is a fast tempo EDM track with references to their music video "LOLLIPOP".[12]
