Ariel Martin (born November 22, 2000), known professionally as “Baby Ariel” is a recording artist who has been named one of the most influential people on the internet by Time magazine[1] and Forbes [2]. Ariel got her start creating lip-synching videos in May 2015 on the lip-synch app musical.ly. In 2017 she has over 20 million supporters on musical.ly. She built a following on other social networks giving her over 30 million followers all together, including more than 2.2 million followers on YouTube, 7 million on Instagram, and 702K on Twitter.

Baby Ariel won the 2017 Teen Choice Award for Choice Muser. [3]

She has been featured on the cover of Billboard magazine alongside top influencer Jacob Sartorius [4], 60 Minutes [5],, Good Morning America [6], CNN [7], and Rolling Stone [8].


Early life

Ariel Martin was born on November 22, 2000 in South Florida. Her mother Sharon Kremen Martin is a New Jersey native and father Jose Martin is from Panama. Her mom manages a musical.ly account called musical.lymom. Her brother King Jacob also became popular on musical.ly. Ariel dated fellow muser Blake Gray from late 2016 to mid-2017.

Career

Ariel began contributing to the video social network musical.ly in May 2015.[9] Since then she has been named “Queen of Gen Z”[10] as the top creator on the platform with over 20 million supporters.

Baby Ariel won the first Teen Choice Award for Choice Muser in 2016. [11]. She was also nominated for “Breakout Creator” and “Entertainer of the Year” at the 2016 Streamy Awards [12]. People's Choice Awards nominated her for 'Favorite Social Media Star” in 2017 [13] as well as iHeart Radio Music Awards for “Social Star Award”[14]. Shorty Awards also nominated her for “Muser of the Year” [15].

She signed with CAA in September 2016. [7].

In 2017 she is nominated for ‘Influencer of the Year’ in Premios Tu Mundo Awards from Telemundo[16] and for "Choice Muser" for Teen Choice Awards. [17]

Charity

Ariel launched an anti-bullying campaign called #ArielMovement to combat bullying and encourage her followers to stay confident in who they are. People magazine recognized her for her support in the #hackharassment movement to stop internet trolls and negativity on the internet [18].
