  • Comment: Bkissin, just as you say I cannot judge actual notability in this field. But the other articles you mention give performing at HASC as a recognizable criterion, which might be reasonable
At present, tho, the key difficulty is promotionalism . It needs removing adjectives of praise, and unsourced statements of improtance. then, sentences like "Many notable figures such as the Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi of Israel David Lau and the mayors of Bnei Barak and El'ad were present at the launch of the album" are puffery. Quotations like "An interviewee in Ami magazine said that "I had never known that there were people like this in the world, who loved Hashem so much and had such a connection with Him. You could tell that the singer really believed in the words he was singing". are usable only if the person being quoted is a recognized expert. , Of course, much the same problems are present in the other articles, --and in hundreds of thousands of others.
If you fix these, and you think there is enough left, I see no reason not accept it. The standard is what is likely to happen at AfD, & the current practice seems to be developing as being more strict about promotionalism than notability DGG ( talk ) 22:44, 21 February 2018 (UTC)
  • Comment: @DGG: @Fish and karate: We have articles for other Hasidic singers, including Mordechai Ben David, Dedi Graucher, and Ohad Moskowitz, I assume this would qualify for the same notability. There is media coverage, though it's all in the Orthodox Jewish press. The only problem with my argument here is WP:OSE. You guys have declined this submission in the past, and so I wanted to get your views again on whether to accept or decline. I'd accept if it were up to me, but seeing the two past deletions, I wanted to tread lightly and assume good faith. Bkissin (talk) 17:51, 21 February 2018 (UTC)
  • Comment: @Bkissin:@DGG: I've tried rewriting some of it to improve the tone and make it less promotional. The line about the Mayors of Bnei Barak and El'ad is in this article but its in Hebrew and its behind a paywall. http://www.kikar.co.il/255035.html .Also the deletions were when I tried putting the article up without referencing it properly or getting anyone to review it. Thank you for your help Adam Bernstein (talk) 19:13, 24 February 2018 (UTC)

Motty Steinmetz (Hebrew: מוטי שטיינמץ) is a contemporary traditional Hasidic singer. He is known for singing Jewish music with great feeling.[1] and has developed a following in Jewish communities in Israel and the diaspora.

Music

Steinmetz was born in 1992 to a Vizhnitz family in Bnei Barak. When he was fourteen his grandfather moved from Antwerp to Israel and taught him traditional Vizhnitz tunes which have later impacted his musical style[2].He was spotted by the producer and composer Ruvi Bennet[3] who became his manager. He sings Jewish religious songs with the lyrics often being taken directly from scripture or prayers. In accordance with halachic laws of modesty he never performs to mixed audiences of men and women even if there is a separation, an example of this is his refusal to sing at the Hebrew Academy for Special Children's annual benefit concert.[4]. He has visited hospitals in Israel to sing to accident victims.[5]

In 2017 he released his album Haneshama Bekirbi, with Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi of Israel David Lau and the mayors of Bnei Barak and El'ad present at the launch of the album.[6][7][8][9] The album reportedly took four years of work to finish with some of the recordings being done three times[10]

Personal life

In 2015 he engaged and married Malcha Weisel.[11] Hasidic singer Mordechai Ben David was a guest at the wedding.[12] As of November 2017, the couple have one daughter named Esther.[13][14]
