- Comment: MadeYourReadThis (talk) Thank you for having a look at my article. As the previous drafts were rejected, I thought that it is best I stick to content that is of significant relevance. From my side, yes, it is ready for submission and any further additions can be made by other users in the future. The reference section is longer because I wanted to provide evidence for everything I wrote.
- Comment: This subject has received sufficient coverage in reliable 3rd party sources and there are some good ones cited here, but that's not reflected in this article. Is this article really ready to be submitted? The References section is longer than the article. MadeYourReadThis (talk) 12:08, 26 June 2018 (UTC)
- Comment: Basie (talk) Thank you for having a look at my article, however I would like to contest the use of the term "primary" sources. The references I have provided are from news media organisations like The Hindu, Business Line, Business Standard, The Economic Times as well as Outlook India, which are leading national news organisations in India. I have also added data from Bloomberg L.P.. If these aren't independent, then I am not sure what is. I'd really appreciate some guidance on your part. I have spent considerable hours on Wikipedia Editorial Norms and Guidelines to build my submission. Even adding a source as late as 4 June 2018
- Comment: Yes, that can be confusing. Please see Wikipedia:Interviews#Primary or secondary?. It's difficult to use an interview with a person as evidence about that person, because after all it's mostly just them making statements about themselves. Even if the interview is published in a reputable newspaper, it thus becomes a primary source. I did have a look to see if I could find more independent sources for this person, but did not succeed. However, with your familiarity with the subject you may be able to find things I could not. Note that sources don't all have to be websites: are there books written about this person, for example? - Comment: Most sources appear to be primary (interviews with the subject, in the main). To strengthen the case for including an article on this person in Wikipedia, see if you can find some WP:INDEPENDENT refs. The language used is also rather promotional: aim for WP:NPOV, avoiding phrases like "revolutionized stock broking" unless it can be demonstrated beyond a shadow of a doubt that he did. Chenayappillil John George is an Indian businessman and philanthropist. He is the founder and managing director of Geojit Financial Services[1].
Personal life
George was born in Pothanikkad, a suburb of Ernakulam in the south Indian state of Kerala.[2][3] He is married to Shiny George and the couple has two sons, Jones George and Jyotis Abraham George.[2][4]
Career
While pursuing a part-time LLM in Delhi, George began working as an analyst with Batliwala and Karani Securities (B&K Securities). Later George dropped out from his LLM course and moved to Cochin to join B&K Securities' Cochin office.[5] George’s founding partner, Mr. Ranajit Kanjilal, was then a client of B&K. Together, in 1987, they set up the firm Geojit & Co, by combining the names of both partners ("Geo" from George and "Jit" from Renajit)[6][7][8][9] Mr. Kanjilal retired from the firm in 1991 selling his shares to Mr. George, thereby bringing Geojit under his sole proprietorship.[10]
Associations
George is also the Executive Committee Member of the National Stock Exchange of India, National Securities Depository Limited, Director of V-Guard Industries[11] and former Director of Federal Bank[12] and Joyalukkas.[13] He is also a charter member of the Financial Planning Standards Board India.[14]
