Hugh Lunn

Hullo again, Since you were kind enough to sort out Graeme-Graham Richardson for me, perhaps you can help with this one too. There is an article on Hugh Lunn, an Australian author and journalist, but someone has just started an article on Hugh Lun with a Rugby League connection. It is the same person and the articles should be merged under Hugh Lunn, double N.

Oh, btw— saw the section above on Horatio Hornblower. If you need a good quick and dirty spell check, CTRL-A, CTRL-X the edit window. Paste into a email window like MS 'Outlook Express', spell check it, and do the same in reverse. Then finish your edit. I do it all the time. Should work in a word processor or with MS Wordpad as well.

I noticed that you hadn't moved the two movie top-100 lists from the main category to the ...by medium category. I would go with "Lists of characters by awards" (or something like that) a bit more general than just "best ever;" it would include "worst ever," or best of the year, etc. And once it goes off the main page, I'd advocate putting it in the "by medium" category as well, in case anybody is looking there for movie lists. I see you launched a rather substantial recategorization of the Gilbert and Sullivan pages. Generally, it is considered a bad idea to do make such an invasive series of edits without discussing it with other editors who are working actively in the subject area, who may have different points of view. The last time we did this (introducing the Gilbert and Sullivan performers category), it was only after such a discussion.

Theta Beta Potata PUNK HOUSE Deletion Review

Theta Beta Potata

This article was first started by me and was deleted back in May '06. I was reading the punk house article and saw that the link for the TBP article was no longer red so I clicked on it and there was an article back up, started by another user. I dont know who started it because, it was deleted soon after I saw it. The decision made in the "Article for Deletion" debate should be reconsidered. The article is about a punk house not a fratenal organization. It seems that the debate, run by User:ChrisB and results were reported by User:Mailer Diablo. I will post this on their talk pages. This is the first time I have requested a deletion review so please let me know what else I need to do. If there is anything. I am on wikipedia frequently and I want to learn. Thanks. It is my understanding that it's generally better to link directly to an article's actual title than to link via a redirect; redirects are there mostly to catch misspellings and typoes and suchlike. Now that you mention it, though, changing them all does seem like a rather pointless exercise.
(If the question is: why did I use pipes and leave the links looking the same? that's because you used the punctuation-less style so consistently that I assumed you had a good reason for it, so I thought I'd better leave it intact.) --Paul A 12:59, 28 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
