FYI

Seems you have fan. This IP user has followed you to several other IP user talk pages, and after you left messages they added tweaks of their own. Kind of odd, but hey... it's Wikipedia. - wolf 00:35, 25 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Thewolfchild: Thanks for watching. IP appears to be editing constructively but heck, never hurts to have an eye out. At least it isn't a vandal. Aspening (talk) 01:47, 25 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

IP

Someone tried to reset your password to, IP 109.98.165.140 (they tried you and me, no others). I don't know why; I looked at the range but found nothing, though it is a range on which User:Web SourceContent was active, a blocked sock. Yamla blocked that one and I think I saw Bbb23 's name as well. This is a good reminder to practice good password safety, and maybe consider two-stage authentication, like I do. Take care, Drmies (talk) 19:13, 6 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Drmies: Thanks for the notification. I'm not a sysop so I can't use 2FA, but as soon as I got the email that someone was trying to reset my password I did take appropriate precautions. This is, unfortunately, not the first time someone has tried to get into my account... Aspening (talk) 19:23, 6 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The security of your password will do nothing to prevent IPs from resetting your password.--Bbb23 (talk) 19:40, 6 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
True, but it's never a bad idea to change passwords regularly, especially if you regularly deal with LTAs. Aspening (talk) 19:55, 6 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
If you say so.--Bbb23 (talk) 19:59, 6 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
That IP address tried a password reset for me on Commons. I use a unique, strong password (thanks, 1Password!) and have 2FA enabled. That's not going to stop password resets, but I also use a unique, strong password on my email address. --Yamla (talk) 20:09, 6 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm! Probably this comes because the reason it's given CU block by Bbb23, that Web SourceContent were blocked for sock abuse. 176.110.22.212 (talk) 18:49, 9 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
