To Wikipedia:

Hello. My name is Dr. David K. Dunaway, and my Wikipedia page has generated some correspondence with the Editors and Administrators in the past few months. I’m writing this letter to confirm what happened on my end, as well as to ask what we can do to ensure my page is written accurately as per Wikipedia guidelines.

Many years ago, someone unbeknownst to me created a Wikipedia page for me. My page had the general idea right, but I asked one of my assistants to correct several errors on it, as well as add a section documenting my radio projects. More recently, a banner appeared on my page indicating we had to add references to my page, which another of my assistants did. However, these corrections were immediately removed from my page, leaving it “bare bones.”

I understand these corrections and additions were removed because my assistants, who have professional relationships with me, implemented them. However, my concern is how to proceed from here. I would like my Wikipedia page to reflect my work accurately, but I’m unsure of who is now qualified to edit my page. Specifically, I would like to have the section on my radio projects added back in — but how and by whom? My assistants and I are willing to comply with any and all of Wikipedia’s guidelines to generate as neutral and accurate a page as possible, with full primary and secondary documentation.

Thank you,

David K. Dunaway Professor of English University of New Mexico

Conflict of interest

At least one major contributor to this article appears to have a close personal or professional connection to the topic, and thus to have a conflict of interest. Conflict-of-interest editors are strongly discouraged from editing the article directly, but are always welcome to propose changes on the talk page (i.e., here). You can attract the attention of other editors by putting {{request edit}} (exactly so, with the curly parentheses) at the beginning of your request. Requests that are unduly long, or are not supported by independent reliable sources, are unlikely to be accepted.

Please also note that our Terms of Use state that "you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation." An editor who contributes as part of his or her paid employment is required to disclose that fact. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 19:56, 6 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
