Conflict of interest advice

[edit]

Hi Randy000, thank you very much for disclosing the connection on your user page. I have added a comment to Draft:Rudy Rotter with further advice.

You may already know the following advice, but I'll add it here for your convenience, and to document having given the advice on Wikipedia.

Information icon Hello, Randy000. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.

Feel free to ask at the Teahouse if any new questions arise. The Teahouse is probably the best place to get new advice, now that the situation is clearer than before. If you mention your conflict of interest in your question, others can help with more specific advice than before.

Best regards,
~ ToBeFree (talk) 01:16, 13 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Please replace the content of Rudy Rotter by the content of Draft:Rudy Rotter

[edit]

In a chat yesterday, ToBeCloud helped me understand how an article Draft:Rudy Rotter I mistakenly submitted as a new article, might be moved from being a draft to instead being submitted as a modification tothe existing Rudy Rotter article. He suggested I use the language in the subject line.

Can you please review the content which I wish to use to replace the current content. The original article Rudy Rotter was created many years ago (I'm not sure by whom) and modified periodically by me. This new Draft, which incorporates the content of the original, is intended to create a proper bold article about Rudy Rotter.

Please advise on anything else I must do to make this possible. Thank you.

It is pointless to continue editing Draft:Rudy Rotter it will not be accepted, you would be better advised to edit the actual article Rudy Rotter. Theroadislong (talk) 19:06, 14 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
