Ümit Özat (born October 30, 1976) is a Turkish soccer player, and is current captain of the Fenerbahçe SK team.

Umit is right-footed, but he can play as left wingback. He is shining in the position, having been chosen to play for the national team in the same position. Mostly playing as a wingback and also supporting attackers, he's known for his unexpected long shots and rather successful crosses with his weak foot. He can also play the sweeper and central defender positions, as well as being able to play as a defensive midfielder when needed. He is recognised as a model professional, giving full effort no matter which position he has to play. PSV Eindhoven was interested in Umit during the 2005 - 2006 season, but he turned down the offer saying that he was happy at Fenerbahce SK.
