Sterling Commerce[1] is a company that provides "multi-enterprise collaboration" solutions to businesses in various industries, including retail, financial services, manufacturing, healthcare and telecom. Formerly a subsidiary of Sterling Software, Sterling Commerce became a separate company in 1996.

SBC Communications Inc. purchased Sterling Commerce in 2000.

With the merger of AT&T Corp. and SBC Communications Inc. in November 2005, Sterling Commerce became an AT&T (NYSE:T) company.


Recent Acquisitions

In 2005, Sterling Commerce acquired Yantra Corporation[2], a provider of distributed order management and supply chain fulfillment solutions.

In 2006, Sterling Commerce acquired Nistevo, a leading provider of on-demand transportation management solutions.
