V is a 2020 Indian up-coming Telugu-language action thriller film written and directed by Mohan Krishna Indraganti and produced by Dil Raju under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations, featuring Nani, Sudheer Babu, Nivetha Thomas and Aditi Rao Hydari in the lead roles.[3] The music was composed by Amit Trivedi,[4] while cinematography was handled by P. G. Vinda.[5] It marks Nani's 25th film and he will be portraying a negative role for the first time in his career.[6][7][8] It will be theatrically released in April 2020 after being postponed due to the 2019-2020 Coronavirus pandemic.[9]

Announcement

On 29 April 2019, Sri Venkateswara Creations announced a movie with Sudheer Babu, Aditi Rao Hydari and Nivetha Thomas as their 36th production with the caption "expect the unexpected" only to reveal it is going to mark 25th movie in Nani's acting career. It is directed by Mohan Krishna Indraganti who introduced Nani to silver screen.[10][11]

Filming

The principal photography on the film started in May 2019 without Nani on set. The second schedule started in June 2019 with Sudheer Babu and other artistes.[12][13] Nani started shooting for the film on 11 August 2019.[14] In September 2019, filming location changed to Thailand where major scenes were shot with Sudheer Babu and Nani.[15]

Soundtrack

This film's soundtrack is composed by Amit Trivedi. The background score for the film is composed by S. S. Thaman.

Release

Initially the film was scheduled to release on 25 March 2020 coinciding with Telugu New Year,[2][16] but due to the 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic it has been postponed to April.[17]

Promotion

A title poster was released at the time of launch. On 4 November 2019 a themed poster was released, revealing the release date. On 27 January 2020 Sudheer Babu's first look from the movie was released[18] and the next day Nani's first look was released[19][20]. The teaser was officially released on 17 February by the producer Dil Raju. The first song Manasu maree was released on 24 February coinciding with Nani's birthday. [21][22][23]
