Celia received mixed reviews from music critics. In a review for Pulse Nigeria[15], Motolani Alake said Celia isn’t a poor album, but it’s not exceptional. While it has some really good songs, the album is mostly filled with lukewarm to good songs. That said, props must go to Tiwa Savage for seeking songwriting help in a terrain that stigmatizes artists for seeking help. However, the delivery of some of those songs revealed that Tiwa Savage didn’t write them.

In a review for NaijaLoaded[16], Jelili Adekunle rated the Celie 4/10 and Tope Delano from Mhojo Hub[17] said Celia is an album that makes it easy for listeners to truly sense just how little effort was packed into it and just how lazy Tiwa Savage has gotten over the years. In a bid to try and please everyone, it became glaring just how bland and boring the project is. From an artist who strives to be perceived as young and experienced, ”Celia” granted listeners permission to get lost in the sprawlingly unwielded tactlessness employed on it. I mean come on, cooing ”baby” in different variations can only appeal so much to a core fan before they skip to the next track.

Reviewing for Music in Africa, the music editor Gabriel Myers Hansen[18] praised Savage for proven to be an effectual songwriter, summoning the appropriate emotions for every song.
