GMG Airlines is an airline based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. A wholly-owned subsidiary of the GMG Group of Companies, it is Bangladesh's largest and leading private airline[citation needed] operating domestic, regional, and international services. Its main bases are Zia International Airport, Dhaka, and Shah Amanat International Airport, Chittagong.[1]

History

The airline was established in 1997 and started operations on 6 April 1998. It is wholly owned by the industrial conglomerate GMG Group. It began with domestic operations and launched international services on 8 September 2004, with a service from Chittagong to Kolkata. It was thereby the first private Bangladeshi airline to launch international services. GMG began regular flights to Bangkok, Delhi, and Kathmandu on October 20, 2006. It started services to Kuala Lumpur on 24 January 2007. The airline started its operation to the Middle East with daily flights to Dubai on 1 February 2008.

Livery

The main body of the planes are white. The belly, and a small bit of the side are blue with yellow stripes. The tail is dark blue with the emblem of the Golden Deer.
