The Mangaluru Amateur Radio Club or MARC is an amateur radio club based in Mangaluru, India.[1] The club was founded of 1978 by a group of active hams.

Activities

MARC engages in a number of activities, including amateur radio homebrew, amateur radio awareness campaigns, communication support during the "land slide," flooding, providing emergency radio services to civic organisations during calamities and disasters, Members of the club actively involved with Worldwide contest like CQWW, CQ WPX etc., and worldwide activities like Jamboree on the Air (JOTA), Fox Hunting on the Radio. Additionally, the organisation offers annual training for those looking to become amateur radio operators.[3]

MARC has been running Disaster Management Repeater of NITK Mangalore and its operating frequency is 145.425 MHz. Since it is located in Mangaluru able to provide line-of-sight coverage to Udupi, Mangaluru, and other cities in Karnataka State, as well as Kannur and Kasaragod in Kerala State.[5] Karavali Morning VHF net is held daily between 7:00 AM and 7:15 AM and 9 PM and 9:15 PM on Mangaluru's VU2NIW repeater 145.425 (Minus Shift).
