If you read the actual sentence, it refers to the INGRIDIENTS as potash, as you claim in your edit summary. Secondly, the fact that ''soap'' existed before the Iron Age doesn't mean the Iron Age didn't invent new kinds of soap. Thirdly, if you're concerned about nomenclature, change the nomenclature, don't remove the entire edit. Finally, by your own admission, the sources are valid. Enough. undo Tag: Undo

Neither Abu-Rabia nor Cohen mention Israelites. There is no soap "known as potash", instead potash is one of the ingredients of soap.
