Renaissance College Hong Kong (Chinese: 啓新書院 Abbreviated: RCHK) is a newly opened school in Ma On Shan, Hong Kong. It is part of the English Schools Foundation (ESF) and is the first school, in Hong Kong, offering the IB Primary Years Programme, the Middle Years Programme and the Diploma Programme to all students according to their year levels. Experienced IB teachers have been recruited from many countries to teach students from Year 1 to Year 13. Many of the students and teachers came from Phoenix International School after it closed on July 7, 2006.

Students come from different countries such as United Kingdom, the United States, India, Singapore, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and a couple of African countries. As well, local Hong kong students make up a majority of the population in the school. All the students in the school speak fluent English and can read and write English. The school offers English, Mandarin, Humanities, Art, Music, Drama, P.E., Science, Mathematics and Technology.

School Hours

For Year 1 to 6, the school starts at 9 a.m. and end at 3:15 p.m. For Year 7 to 13, the school starts at 9:15 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. Students that are involved in CAS after school, which stands for Creativity, Action and Service, may end their school day at 4:15 p.m. for primary students, whose activities start at 3:15 p.m., or 5:15 p.m. for secondary students, whose activities start at 4:15 p.m.

Uniform

For boys (Year 1 to Year 13): Stripe polo shirt (either khaki shirt with horizontal black stripes or black shirt with horizontal khaki stripes), cargo shorts, cargo pants, sweater, P.E. shirt and P.E. shorts.

For girls (Year 1 to Year 6): Stripe polo shirt (either khaki shirt with horizontal black stripes or black shirt with horizontal khaki stripes), cargo pants, sweater, a skort, P.E. shirt and P.E. shorts.

For girls (Year 7 to Year 13): Stripe polo shirt (either khaki shirt with horizontal black stripes or black shirt with horizontal khaki stripes), cargo pants, sweater, a skirt, P.E. shirt and P.E. shorts.

Houses

The four houses in Renaissance are named after the 4 major dynasties in ancient China. They are Song Dynasty, Ming Dynasty, Qing Dynasty and Tang Dynasty. All dynasties have 6-8 groups of 13-15 students for each advisory teacher. Dynasty activities include sports and other competitions, community service and charitable activities, assemblies and meetings with elected student council representatives, it enables senior and junior students to interact together, and provides many opportunities for students to exercise team working and leadership skills.
