A fact from TikTok-a-Thon for Trans Healthcare appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 28 April 2024 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
Did you know... that home repair and maintenance educator Mercury Stardust and her friend Jory Vizcaino have raised more than $4 million for transgender healthcare through their TikTok-A-Thon for Trans Healthcare?
An infobox is helpful for a quick glance. But this box is geared to nonprofit organizations, so I would think that the infobox should be about Point of Pride, which hosts the tiktok-a-thon, right? Or might there be an infobox that is more directly suitable for the project of a nonprofit, as in this case? ProfGray (talk) 20:30, 1 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, so I borrowed using that info box from another telethon, I looked over a lot of telethon articles and they use either this one or a television one. I don't know which infobox template is correct but I think it would be confusing to have the infobox about the recipient organisation. I think we just need to find a more suitable infobox template, although I don't know which that would be. John Cummings (talk) 22:29, 1 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: I'd really like some suggestions for improving the hook, this year the event was really badly disrupted by trolls who got their accounts banned 9 times in 10 hours. I would like to include this in a way that isn't encouraging trolls to disrupt fundraisers
Overall: Thank you for this useful article. In response to your comment above: I think that ALT0 is fine: it gives good news, and people want to hear that. I would personally not want to feed the trolls.
Earwig picks up only common phrases, and a quotation which is clearly acknowledged in the article.
The system has asked for one QPQ and we have got one QPQ, so that is fine by me. Storye book (talk) 15:46, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. Can you find other sources that cover the fundraiser disruption? I would be wary of using the characterization by the source, "trolls" does not strike me as NPOV. Also, it seems like an allegation or a conjecture, not a fact, that there was "mass reporting" because TikTok does not disclose it. ProfGray (talk) 18:43, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
