Original Article[edit]

Avatar The Last Airbender Nick Swoboda was born in Spokane Washington on May, 21, 1996 He has been in the popular nickelodeon T.V. show Avatar The Last Airbender

COMMENT: Google search will show that Nick Swoboda is an actor on Avatar The Last Airbender.

Nomination Criteria[edit]

A1 No context. Very short articles lacking sufficient context to identify the subject of the article. Example: "He is a funny man with a red car. He makes people laugh." Context is different from content, treated in A3, below.

  • I would probably PROD or AFD it. If the result of either was "keep", move it to Nick Swoboda and make this page into a redirect to the page about the show.
  • Depends on article title. If it's Avatar The Last Airbender, then check for vandalism/good faith removal of content. If it's Nick Swoboda then prod/afd
  • I would decline and add a reference or two. If I had time, I'd expand it myself.
  • Context established and notability asserted. Crap article but not speedy-able.
  • Actors tend to have some fanbase, and I'm cautious about deleting them without rationale
  • I'd clean up; if someone felt strongly that this should be deleted, since it identifies the subject and contains a claim of notability, full discussion should be held.
  • Should be redirected to ATLA page. Is blatantly not deletable under A1; only A7 could possibly apply.
  • Would search for refs; if he only appeared in one episode with one line, would probably prod or AFD
  • Spokane ftw! Anyway, it makes at least some semblance of an attempt at a notability rationale, so it's got to go to AfD or PROD
  • would check history for this page ?vandalism
  • The rationale is weak, but it passes.
  • I'd take a look to see if Swoboda is just an extra, and if he was, then PROD. Otherwise not a speedy.
  • Keep/AfD, or even speedy redirect are best.
  • Depends on the roles: check IDMb. If significant, keep. If not, A7
  • Possibly a snow AFD, but not a speedy
  • Possibly notable. AfD if no significant sources on Google. Consensus needs to be gained on whether he passes the subjective WP:ENTERTAINER criteria.
  • A1 doesn't apply; the article is short, but there's plenty of context. Probably not notable, but being an actor on a Nickelodeon show is a good enough assertion.
  • If this is an article on the program then would just edit the article, otherwise if on person would either tag or prod
  • You really should fix the spelling of "ratioinale" throughout

Balloonman's analysis[edit]

A1 is clearly incorrect. There is enough information to identify Nick Swoboda as an actor on Avatar the Last Airbender.

It could be argued that it passes A7 because it makes a claim to importance/significance via his role in Avatar. I'm not sure that it does. The article does not make a claim that Nick Swoboda is notable, but rather that he played a role on a notable TV series. His role amounted to two episodes and based upon the claims currently in the article, it fails BIO/N/entertainer. Thus, I would not complain if somebody deleted this article A7.

I would PROD this as failing to meet WP:entertainer, WP:N, and WP:BIO. Give the author a chance to save the article.
